AND, we now have theatres announcing new seasons which are actually ANNUAL programmes of work. The whole model is running on a reduced scale. Add in a cost of living crisis, casual work places taking the piss with their T&Cs (gigs not jobs), and the usual barriers to access...

On my mind a lot...The small-scale engagements which kept my career ticking over & massively expanded my skillset seem to have all but disappeared. That breadth of work meant I could walk into The NT in my 30s with confidence...where do young artists nurture their careers now?

Farewell, Paul Auster. Such a distinctive voice: inventive, mundane, absurd, personal - all at once! I fell in love with this gem last year, and I’ll be working through his other works for years to come. Bravo sir 🙌
