Very excited to rip out our fossil #gas furnace and replace it with a cold climate air-source #heatpump this week. New system is more affordable, efficient and comfortable and will end our household dependance on fossil fuels. Disconnect #gas #electrifyeverything #ClimateCrisis

Last week, the 🇨🇦 gov’t issued CAD 20 bn in financing for the #TransMountainPipeline to replace private loans. Huge cost overruns on the #TMX pipeline expansion show how expensive building fossil fuel infrastructure is, with the project now operating at a loss. 1/3 nationalobserver.com/2025/01/31/new…

@mlnadler @jm_mcgrath Section 7. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice. Removing bike lanes will kill and injure Canadians.

@jm_mcgrath Where in the Charter are bike lanes protected? Waste of time, money and energy. Will be rejected.

NEW: CycleToronto and other citizens have launched a Charter challenge of the Ford government's law to remove bike lanes. CT's executive director is not present at the Queen's Park announcement because... he was doored on Monday in a painted bike lane and is hospitalized.

@mlnadler @jm_mcgrath I mean, there is part of the bill that says you can’t sue the government over any damages caused by their bill. That sounds pretty awful to me.

A well-crafted question here from @lanesharrison. "How do you explain the amendment that protects the province from lawsuits around injuries or deaths after you remove bike lanes to the families of those dead cyclists?" #onpoli #topoli

@thepmoss @jen_keesmaat Long before there were bike lakes, Yonge St. and. Bloor St. only ever had one lane of flowing traffic anyway because of parked/stopped cars and trucks on every block.

@jen_keesmaat While driving down Yonge Street the other day I was thinking how it will continue to be one lane in each direction simply because people will be forced to move over to get around the bikes. But it will become like a video game, dodging in and out and dangerous for all.

The @tdsb fired my son's grade three teacher 5 weeks into the school year due to lack of adequate funding, covering the class with a hastily bodged system of two part-time rotary teachers. @dougford @JillDunlop1 are badly underfunding public education @ETFOeducators @TrusteeSara

Have you seen our new online tool, which shows how Ford's cuts impact your child's school? The PC government has cut $1,500 in funding, per student, since 2018. What does that mean for the #onted schools near you? Go to buildingbetterschools.ca/cuts-tool and find out! #onpoli

SHOCKING: This is blatant life endangerment thru dangerous public policy I wouldn’t have thought possible until recently. In Ontario the Doug Ford Govt plans to BAN LAWSUITS against the Province WHEN people on bikes are hurt or killed after they rip out safe bike-lanes. “Stay off streets for your own safety.”
