@jstrange1925 @WHOI @USNavyResearch @NSF Alvin remains the premier tool for bringing human eyes and brains to the deep ocean, but it has changed quite a bit. In 2013 it gained a new personnel sphere with 2 additional viewports (5 total). It is currently completing the upgrade that will allow it to dive too 6500m!!

@WHOI @USNavyResearch @NSF Never dived. But I did the embryology course at the MBL in the summer of '88. One afternoon I had a little free time and spent it across the street at WHOI and NOAA. I had heard of Alvin, and there it was! Is it still the same Alvin, after all these years?

@Erik_Skopil We all assumed that, without fans, home field advantage would be diminished in 2020, but the ducks are 2-0 at home and 1-2 on the road. Overall, Pac-12 teams are 16-9 at home and 9-13 on the road. Did we underestimate the importance of home field this year? #AutzenAudibles
