I fucking hate the Maine Wire, but they have a point here.

The volume of gasoline supplied to the domestic market (a proxy for consumption) averaged 9.0 million barrels per day in October compared with 9.1 million b/d in the same month in 2024 and 2023. There has been no sustained net growth in consumption for more than 20 years since 2023.
