AGI has been here for a long time. Just like a dog can’t perceive a monkey’s level cognition, and a monkey can’t perceive our level, we can’t perceive the next level. We’re constrained by akrasia and a lack of shared understanding. It’s akin to the dimensional existence limitation.

Who is will reach AGI first? My bet is on Anthropic followed by Grok!

I appreciate your opinion, however, that is an oversimplification of a nearly intractable issue. It’ll be a combination of energy density and availability that will drive the best end user options. After decades in the energy industry and continuing education on both ends of the spectrum, I like to live in the ‘radical middle’ of this discussion. Think about it: In fossil fuels, the biggest cost is the fuel itself. In renewables, the fuel being sun, wind, water, even nuclear heat is FREE. It's a pretty clear decision.

I’m hoping that the surprise is to the upside. It would be great to see the ability to build a fully functional and intuitive assistant based on what you need. I am a VP of operations, a local city council candidate, as well as a chair of the board for a charity. Wildly different requirements that AI augments and has the potential for exponential improvement of my time spent. The tools are across the board, not worth the hype. They are categorically worth $30 per month, based on the time they afford me to plan bigger picture. But not game changing to the average person.

As we prepare for GPT-5, what are some unexpected surprises we might encounter?  Any ideas?

@PeterDiamandis And sprints. Nothing puts a “mature” body into panic mode and packs on strength like sprints.

@PeterDiamandis A few vitamins ( D, magnesium, C, and zinc) and TRT under doctors care and rotating through 4 heavy weeks for 5 reps and 4 mid weight weeks for 8-10. This is at 51 and it is working to build strength and endurance.

@PeterDiamandis I was lucky enough to be able to give my brother a kidney. Even with that, he still went through a long wait. There is a lot of room for improvement!

If you know, or ask anyone, waiting for an organ transplant, it's a long and terrifying wait. Something needs to change.
