@1000HolyPlaces The paintings were so good. Lots of natural light through the stained glass windows. All the interior doors were arched with dark wood trim.

@Bmmoody Largely because a great deal of the Republican platform isn’t congruent with my understanding of the Gospel and its leaders don’t believe in the type of pluralistic society that is necessary for the Church

I think that one thing that separates me from a lot of young, politically active members of the Church, is that I make no pretense that the party I caucus with really likes me or my faith all that much

I went to a funeral today, and it was lovely until the closing remarks turned into a 15 minute long gospel sermon. That was on top of the Eulogy, a musical number and 3 other speakers. I usually enjoy the closing remarks, but that was too long. It was even longer, but he said he was going “shift direction,” and turned to the last page.

@ResPubAmericana Yes, one of the reasons I’ve been trying to gain some muscle is just to be able to eat more calories lol!

@AdelheidMonroe My problem has never been exercise unfortunately. I play basketball 3-4 times a week, my job is moderately active and I try to lift in the evening...but I LOVE food. I love it, and I eat have a big problem where I eat my feelings...lolol.

I want/need to loose 30lbs over the next 3+ months. Anybody got tips for me? I'd like to be sitting around 210lbs by the end of it.

I love the SLC temple too, I also think a lot of new temples look too similar, but no Californian (at least in my generation) grows up without an appreciation of the Missions and the Spanish Colonial architecture. I know of at least one older LDS chapel building in west LA that has those design elements.

@AdelheidMonroe I would like to see us do something really interesting. I feel like the "cultural heritage" thing has become the a cop out to cover for having no ideas of one's own. The SLC temple is unique architecture. I would like to see us make more things that are grand & unique & memorable

I get to go with the YW to the Yorba Linda temple open house this weekend. I haven’t been to an open house since the San Diego temple when I young.

@john_mortal I love the Spanish Colonial architecture. Growing up in my hometown there were many public, religious, and educational buildings with this type of design. The stucco and the arches lends gravitas to temple and an appreciation to the Christian heritage of its location.

@AdelheidMonroe I have felt like our temple designs have been in a rut. But wow, that is terrible. It looks like a government building.
