@antiseptic69420 @Samia_dz_mont I never said Arabs originated outside of the Middle East. I said the Middle East wasn’t Arabized yet.
Arabs come from the Arabian peninsula, which I mention above, and it is in the Middle East. They just hadn’t spread yet.
English

@AdiMagnolia @Samia_dz_mont Where did arabs come from if not the middle east?

@SummitSeeker100 @MartinR2D2 @GunGnome We have new timeline branches from basically every country. If I lived in Europe I’d find it fascinating to see the other side after the timeline split!
English

@SummitSeeker100 @MartinR2D2 @GunGnome It’s hit or miss here, for sure… varies by state and city.
I think people who haven’t been here can’t conceptualize how big we are, and how many sub-cultures we have… and how those subcultures/regions are directly influenced by where the people originate from.

@NYCMayor When Muslims murder Westerners, it’s radicalization.
When Westerners murder Muslims, broad societal “Islamophobia” is blamed.
Criticism of a belief system is not bigotry. We criticize Christianity, and Christians get murdered, but we never call to stop criticizing Christianity.

I am horrified by the deadly attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego, an apparent act of anti-Muslim violence.
Islamophobia endangers Muslim communities across this country. We must confront it directly and stand together against the politics of fear and division. My thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire community grieving this devastating attack.
The NYPD is increasing deployments to mosques across the city out of an abundance of caution. There are currently no known threats to NYC houses of worship.

@Halo_chains Things tend to fall under an umbrella term while we are figuring them out. The intolerance is likely multi-variable.
Plus, environment matters- we have less breastmilk diversity and completely different microbiomes now. Modernity has reduced early-life microbial exposure.

@adreelux @kisstheladder8 By nationality, correct.
And, words can have both a literal and figurative meaning.
Nobody owns culture, identity, or labels. Culture belongs to people. The culture of your parents is your birthright.
Culture is fundamentally human; national boundaries are man made.
English

@kisstheladder8 If you’re born in Mexico, you’re Mexican. If you’re born in the US, you’re American. Hope this helps.
English

@LowkeyEnergy_ The reason is actually because Americans are diverse & spoiled.
Once something is a free service here, there must be options for groups with differences (halal, vegetarian, gluten free, etc) And if you provide specific food for one group, it’s discirmination not to do it for all
English

@LowkeyEnergy_ …
Says someone in Africa who doesn’t know 70% of black children in America already receive free lunch.
English

Yt people don't want Black kids to have access to it.
🖤@its_Lynx1
This is how China provides lunch in its government schools. What is stopping us?

@miauwmiiauw My favorite thing about the German language.
It’s so efficient and logical… Easily the language I picked up the most of in traveling over the years.
English

@CoreyWriting The violent radicalization of young men. My hearts go out to the victims.
I continue to support the criticism of all belief systems, and vehemently condemn hate and violence to the individual followers of any.

17 and 19? My God. They threw their entire lives away, and for what?
Andrew Kolvet@AndrewKolvet
Both suspects in the Islamic Center shooting died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. No officers fired a shot. The two male attackers are believed to be ages 17 and 19.

@Her_Nonymous_D Comments are wild.
Yes, homeless people are blessed to have their favorite foods sometimes… but if you walk away from a slice of pizza, you’re not actually in need, or hungry.
You were generous to help a man out. He lacked gratitude and manners.
English

So today a homeless guy outside a pizza spot asked me if I could buy him something to eat.
He said he was hungry, and without really thinking twice I told him, “Yeah, okay.”
Then immediately after that, he starts telling me his order preferences 😭
Talking about, “I like extra cheese and pepperoni.”
Mind you… I was already doing this out of kindness, not because I’m DoorDash.
So I went inside and bought him a regular cheese slice. Nothing crazy, but still food.
I come back out, hand it to him, and this man looks at the pizza, looks at me, and goes, “I said I like extra cheese and pepperoni.”
The entitlement almost took me OUT.
So I looked right back at him and said, “You can take it or leave it.”
And instead of just accepting the slice, he….

@mikeyj2208 @AdiMagnolia @GunGnome Please tell me your area and I will go there and enjoy the beers! (Recommendations also graciously accepted.)
English

@MartinR2D2 @GunGnome This is how you sound: “If you don’t get married in a white dress, you don’t really have a wedding culture!”
Grow up. Cultures can be different. The areas where we had Germans settlers is where we have the strongest beer cultures. It’s literally descendant of your beer culture.
English

@MartinR2D2 @GunGnome You know, for the continent that lectures us the most on cultural tolerance and variance- you guys have literally zero sense of the fact that cultures can be different.
It varies here, and we do have beer gardens, but FYI cultures can actually be practiced differently.
English

@krassenstein This is true if my religion, too.
Our churches have also been victimized.
And, we still cannot suppress criticism of belief systems.
English

@krassenstein The West mocks and criticizes our own Gods, nuns and priests.
I vehemently oppose violence to Muslim communities foremost.
AND, we can’t be forced into silencing criticism of a BELIEF SYSTEM.
Religion is fair game for criticism. Especially a religion that oppresses women.
