As much as I hate hitting or flogging children, I watched a mother discipline her child today and, honestly, I was satisfied with her actions. I was inside a keke (tricycle). This woman had begged us to let her carry some stuff at a junction. When we got there, she told her little daughter to wait inside the keke with her elder sister. Did the girl wait? Of course not. The moment her mother stepped out, the child jumped down and almost ran straight into the expressway. Her elder sister quickly dragged her back. When the mother returned she landed a solid “abara” on the girl’s back. I couldn’t help but smile to myself and whisper, “Very good.” 😊

This was how I ended a 2 years relationship with a girl I loved so much. One day I told my mum I have interest in marrying the girl I was dating, my mum just asked me a few questions if I’m ready if I really loved her and so one. It ended there the about a month later my mum came back to tell me I can’t marry her, that she made enquiries about the girls village and that I can’t marry this girl, I tried to convince her that she’s a good girl but instead my mum played the emotional card. I ended the relationship 2 weeks after but till date I blame myself and can’t forgive myself cause I feel like I missed a big opportunity to a good lifetime partner. Please am I wrong for ending the relationship?
