The real moat now is workflow depth, proprietary data, distribution, or a vertical where AI is not just a feature but the whole product.

This update gives you a structured timeline of every step the model took: thinking, searching, tool calls, final output. Each one labeled and separated. You can now build automations that react to individual steps instead of parsing a blob. The real reason for the change: Google is preparing the API for mid-flight steering (redirecting the model while it's working) and async tool calls (the model keeps processing while waiting on external data). Both are coming. The schema had to change first. If you built anything on the Gemini Interactions API, the old format breaks June 6. Check your integrations.

Ask an Indian grandparent to use a voice assistant in their language. Watch what happens. That is the gap.

Yesterday #AIFraudsinIndia suddenly exploded across timelines, almost every post laser-targeted at @SarvamAI with identical screenshots, funding accusations, low sales numbers, and "scam" claims. Coordinated. Repetitive. Many from low-follower or fresh accounts. This wasn’t organic criticism. It was a clear paid smear campaign. Indian AI is finally trying to build something real: foundational models that are focused on India. Sarvam raised money, attracted talent, open-sourced work, partnered with real players, and is shipping despite brutal challenges in data, compute & talent wars. Yes demand transparency. Question govt grants vs delivery. Push for genuine pre-training progress over fine-tunes. Hold every startup (including Sarvam) accountable on milestones. Low HF downloads or early losses aren’t “fraud” — most deeptech bets bleed before they scale. Every frontier model started “disappointing.” But flooding X with coordinated hate, burner accounts & fake outrage? That’s crab mentality killing India’s sovereign AI dream before it takes off. Real issues deserve debate, not hashtag assassination. Build. Iterate. Hold accountable. No shortcuts.

@OfficialLoganK Especially true in non-English AI. Indian language TTS has basically one benchmark, MOS scores on newsreader speech. That tells you nothing about how a model performs on conversational Tamil or colloquial Hindi

Every company building on top of AI should be making their own benchmarks. This is the way if you want model progress to disproportionally benefit your company.
