On the third visit, an OB-GYN insisted on two ultrasounds to "confirm fetal demise" before admitting her to intensive care. She died hours later from sepsis complications. Her mother later said it felt like doctors were more concerned about the fetal heartbeat than her daughter's life.

When I was 7 months pregnant, my husband and I went to a party and they had cherry pie. I brought one slice home specifically for myself because at that stage of pregnancy I thought about food constantly. I put it in the fridge, went to bed, and fully planned on eating it the next day.
