Secretary Hegseth on Wednesday shared a custom prayer, referenced as the CSAR prayer, used by the brave warfighters of Sandy-1 who led the daylight rescue mission of Dude 44 Alpha out of Iran, which was obviously inspired by dialogue in Pulp Fiction. However, both the CSAR prayer and the dialogue in Pulp Fiction were reflections of the verse Ezekiel 25:17, as Secretary Hegseth clearly said in his remarks at the prayer service. Anyone saying the Secretary misquoted Ezekiel 25:17 is peddling fake news and ignorant of reality.

I drove to Marshall, Texas on Monday. During the four hour drive, I passed numerous fires burning along the highway and drove through heavy smoke multiple times. Later that day, I saw posts on social media showing additional fires down near the Galveston Bay area. It really made me stop and think, how were there so many fires across Texas on the same day, even hundreds of miles apart? According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, they received 32 requests for assistance on wildfires burning about 1,458 acres since the prior Saturday (covering through February 23). Reports included multiple grass fires near Pflugerville along SH 130 (quickly extinguished), a brush fire in northeast Houston scorching around 175–200 acres (with containment efforts ongoing), a contained 42-acre wildland fire in Washington County, and scattered others amid dry, windy conditions and heavy smoke. Was it just a coincidence? Not really, Texas has been under elevated to critical fire weather conditions this February due to dry vegetation, above average temperatures, low humidity, and gusty winds. These statewide factors make it easy for fires (often from sparks along highways, equipment, or other sources) to ignite and spread rapidly in multiple regions at once, even far apart.
