@libsoftiktok @FBI Remember when we thought tiktok was tok dangerous because of “China?” Leftist have become way too comfortable on the platform with treason, rebellion, and overall assassination chatter and it’s supposedly controlled by Americans now? How does that work?

What movie from the last 10 years (and it can’t be a Disney/Pixar movie) can still elicit either tears or cheers from you on repeat viewing? Because I can’t think of one.

Motu did not fail because of silliness or nostalgia or gay memes. It failed because Travis Knight is not a very good storyteller. Rewatch Kubo and you’ll see. That movie has a lot of problems, but it’s saving grace is it’s stop-motion beauty. Bumblebee. The only thing people remember is the first 3 mins. Knight does visuals well. He’s just not a good storyteller. He doesn’t know how to elicit real emotion. He has never stuck the landing.

Hollywood made audiences sick of nostalgia bait and they will do the same for zoomer creepypasta. Then what? Name 3 millennial IPs that could be rebooted in 20 yrs and make a billion dollars? YOU CANT DO IT

I’ll be the first to say that structurally motu was not good. Lots of problems with the story itself. This movie has been in development hell for decades and knight hands it to his super gay UK buddy to re-write it and that guy just ignores all of the previous takes and writes it like a gay sitcom. Knight should be getting lambasted for his bad choices and instead he’s getting praise and fans want him to be the Gen X James Gunn in charge of all the unused 80s IP. That’s crazy. His bad choices as director are the main reason why the movie is not doing well. Glorious thighs? Give em head? That’s Knight. Just listen to his interviews. He’s not a motu geek. He has no real love for motu. It was just a job. He’s a wannabe—always has been. He’s good with visuals and terrible with story and performances. He’s a stop motion guy. That’s where he should stay.

@DiscussingFilm @ComicBook Godzilla deserves to rest at the bottom of the sea. This thing where he has to fight marvel and DC and ninja turtles and every other franchise is so stupid. Leave that poor lizard alone.

To chalk old He-Man cartoons up as “silly” is trivializing their impact. He-man was there for millions of kids after school while both parents were at work. He entertained us and then he talked to us about real life and making good choices. He was a positive male role model in homes without fathers. Zoomers don’t have anything like He-Man and they never will. They were born dead inside with AI for a brain.

I saw Rocky 4 in a packed RKO theater back in 1984. It was the height of the cold war. The crowd went absolutely ape sh*t during the glove smash opener. By the time the movie was over, people were out of their seats going crazy like they had been watching pay per view. Core memory stuff.

Most people I know born after 1990, watched Rocky IV as an ironic joke. They couldn’t comprehend that people once felt this sincere about American culture. But that’s changed. And rather suddenly—especially with young men. Many can watch this scene & say: “I get it now.”

Here’s my advice to @AmazonMGMStudio and @mastersmovie. Hire the best editor in the business and cut the movie down to 1hr45m. Call it the Grayskull Cut. Tighten up the Earth stuff to 10m. Beef up around the battle scenes—use unreleased footage. Grayskull cut should have no involvement from Travis Knight. Put him to work on a commentary track. If he wants to do a 3hr cut, let him, but on his own dime like Snyder.

@dan2die4 @Forbes Trying to educate people about show business is hard work. They think box office numbers are the final word. They have no idea.

The obsession with box office numbers is really making people look stupid. The youtubers who cover this stuff really need to get a better understanding of the business and help to educate their audiences. There’s a whole game being played behind the scenes and we are only seeing the facade.
