He had previously admitted two counts each of making indecent images of categories A, B and C, and a seventh charge of possession of extreme pornography. Prosecutor Catherine Elvin said Ellis was arrested at his home in May 2023 after police received intelligence that he had uploaded indecent images of children to the platform Kik. Numerous devices were seized from him and analysed, including a Samsung mobile phone and an SD card. On the phone, police found 21 images and four videos of “category A” (the most serious indecent image category), 12 images of category B, 24 images and one video of category C, and 29 videos of extreme pornography. The extreme pornography videos showed him engaging a dog in full sexual intercourse, in what appeared to be his - Ellis’ - bedroom. The dog could be heard yelping in pain. In subsequent videos found, Ellis appeared to admit he had frequent sexual activity with the dog. On the SD card, police found 542 images and 193 videos of category A, 371 images and 110 videos of category B, and 167 images and 93 videos of category C. The children shown in this material were aged roughly between one and 16. Chat logs showed he had discussed child sex offences online, and asked one person for images of his daughter. This person, who Ms Elvin said is under police investigation, sent a child’s underwear to Ellis, who then sent him an image of himself with the underwear, alongside his penis. Ellis, has three previous convictions for four offences Sentencing, Judge Rhys Rowlands agreed to suspend Ellis’ sentence, “not without some misgivings”. Ellis was ordered to complete an “onerous” programme requirement, and a drug rehabilitation plan. He will adhere to sex offenders register notification requirements, and a sexual harm prevention order, each for 10 years. Police say members were arrested for human trafficking, s*xual assault, r*pe, forced marriage, and modern-day slavery. A total of six men and three women were arrested. The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light (AROPL) is a religious sect that derives from Shia Islam and has charity status in the UK. According to the Guardian, 150 people, 56 of them being children, live together in the gated property in Crewe. The leader of the group is Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, who claims to have been appointed by Muhammad.
