There are days that one doesn't forget, then others to always remember. Today, closing our @AfricanChildFrm conference was a day I will always remember. The adolescents, our #AfricanChildren spoke, loud and clear. We listened and committed. My deepest honour to have led this.

They were told to wait their turn. They were told the future isn’t theirs yet. And here they are, rewriting the rules while the adults watch. From 11 African countries, adolescents came together in Addis Ababa to speak in one voice not as beneficiaries, but as changemakers. Their message was clear: “Listen when we speak. Respect our rights. Make laws that work in real life, not just on paper.” They called for safe schools, inclusive health systems, adolescent councils across Africa, and protection from violence both offline and online. They reminded us that climate change isn’t just a news headline but their daily reality. Adolescents are not the leaders of tomorrow. They are the citizens of today, ready to shape policy, challenge systems, and hold adults accountable. This Call to Action is more than a statement; it’s a blueprint for Africa’s future one where every adolescent is safe, healthy, included, and able to dream without fear.
