I started wearing Western work wear - cause why not change at 48 But here is the real change: 1. I am more recognizable (as a self employed extrovert this is good) 2. I get approached in more random conversations 3. I am more memorable (the guy in the cowboy hat...) 4. I find people let their guard down faster in conversations. 5. It seems to build trust faster 6. I feel very comfortable in it 7. and my wife LOVES it... she just loves it Win all around in my opinion. Wish I would have done it sooner.

@SMB_Attorney Butcher box bacon is top notch.

7 years ago, my cousin bought Butcher Box’s $25 Bacon for Life and $25 Ground Beef for Life promos. He estimates he’s gotten $1000+ in free product conservatively. He encouraged us to buy it too but we didn’t so he reminds us periodically. He’s a mathematician and business analyst and said recently in a group chat: “I am for sure a special line item in their internal reporting. Me and like 20 other people eating into their margins.” He’s the kind of guy who will ride it until he dies or they declare bankruptcy. Absolute legend 😂

This is why brands like Filson and Barbour are so popular btw. I’ve literally bought things before from brands like this and one of my first thoughts about it was “Yeah, my sons are totally gonna fight over this when I’m dead.”

@cornbreadcowboi I remember when it got too expensive and Grandaddy (in my pfp) had to buy some off brand stuff. We always got him a whole case of Levi Garrett for Christmas. You never saw a man smile that big. It did kill him, though.

@subdivisionguy Scrape to subgrade. Apply snapshot liberally. Lay rock and compact. Reapply snapshot occasionally and post emerge chemical.

Landscape fabric? Waste of money under a gravel driveway? I’m scraping topsoil to a decent subgrade. Maybe I’ll compact… maybe I won’t. But should I lay fabric down or will it not matter in a couple years? Aggressive weeds in the deep south.

@Taxsavvyjessica @cordes_tax I live in Swampeast (southeast) Missouri. It’s hot and very humid all summer. We have a lot of corn, but also soybeans, cotton, and rice (standing water = hello mosquitoes)

@austinholimanag @cordes_tax I’m glad this happens somewhere other than where I live. I’m surrounded by cornfields and it’s gets really hot, but I don’t have to deal with corn sweat. We have the nice dry heat with very low humidity.
