Today we’re spotlighting #GeorgiaGrown Executive Chef Ben Vaughn, best-selling author, restaurateur, and television personality, whose passion for approachable, story-driven food has shaped an inspiring culinary career across the Southeast. Ben believes food is one of the most powerful ways to connect communities and share culture. Inspired by his love for accessible “people” food, Ben authored “Southern Routes,” a Wall Street Journal and Amazon bestselling book that chronicles his journey discovering family-owned restaurants from North Carolina to Texas while celebrating the recipes, stories, and traditions behind them. Rooted in a passion for cultivating community through food, Ben is the founder of The Center of Culinary Cultivation and Sow Project and currently serves as Culinary Director for Brewed to Serve Restaurant Group and Be Nice Hospitality Group. With gas over $4 across the state, we are working overtime to make sure Georgians get what they pay for at the pump. Last week, Bobby Hyde from our Fuel & Measures team gave @JustinGrayWSB a behind the scenes look at the work we do to certify Georgia’s more 200,000 retail fuel pumps so that Georgians aren’t taken advantage of. Great to sit down with @AgCommHarperGA and several lawmakers from Georgia’s Farm Caucus to talk about how the SBA continues to expand access to capital for small businesses across the food supply chain – including through new offerings like our 90% Grocery Guarantee. This Admin is proud to support the men and women who feed, clothe, and fuel America.

@SecRollins is 100% right- protecting American farmland is critical to protecting our national security, food security, and economic future. Georgia farmland belongs to Georgia farmers, not foreign adversaries - thats exactly why I led the charge to successfully ban hostile countries, like China, from buying Georgia farmland.

Last week, I announced a record $1.15 million investment through Georgia’s Dog and Cat Sterilization Program Grant to help expand affordable spay and neuter services across our state.   This funding will help reduce overcrowding in shelters and support the organizations working every day to improve animal welfare in Georgia communities.   Applications open May 15 and close June 15.   Read more: ⬇️ bit.ly/3PrVxZK
