Avici | Review #1
The Verdict: 🟢 Pass (with caveats)
The Obstacle: Although with a smooth UI, there is a $10 one-time fee for the Virtual Platinum card. Technically it should be a "discard" per my game rules, but I’ve already bought it months ago, so I'll test it anyway. Physical cards are a steep $50. (Signature even more expensive)
These were my Numbers:
Deposit: Funded via Base (pretty fast).
Fees/FX: 1.14% bank commission on the transaction. (at least there's 1% of it as Visa fees)
Exchange Rate: 1 USD = 1315.76 ARS (including the above fee)
I spent: 2,500 ARS ($1.90 USD) for a alfajor at YPF.
The Experience:
Pros: Multi-chain support (Solana, Base, Polygon, you name it). You can set insane $1M spending limits (if only I had the pocklet!).
Cons: Once you move funds to the "Spending Balance," you can't withdraw them back to your wallet. You must spend it.
Speed: Top-up takes ~60 seconds. A bit nerve-wracking if you’re already at the checkout, but manageable.
The Vibe: It feels like a crypto with a very nice UI. It's transparent in ways, like it tells you where your funds are and which chain they are on, and you can withdraw them in that exact same chain. Seems like there's no orchestration there, but for crypto natives I guess that's acceptable. I doubt I will see this used by normies.

- EtherFi: shared details behind its move to OP Mainnet + launched EURC yield vaults
- KAST: partnered with Tempo + launched referral rewards up to $250
- Tria: distributed $2.25M in cashback rewards
- Avici: surpassed $20M in total card spending volume
- Solayer Pay: physical cards are now live

- Cypher: launched Agent Pay for AI-native payments

And this is only the tip of the iceberg
What did I miss?

This is terrifying @Ledger.
I just received a physical scam letter at my home address in Italy 🇮🇹
How the hell do scammers have access to the addresses of Ledger users? This goes way beyond phishing emails now.
People’s safety is literally at risk.
