I can’t describe how happy I am right now. Something that felt nearly impossible a few years ago just became reality. My obsession with CryptoPunks started years back, when buying even a floor Punk felt like a huge achievement. Getting one you could truly “immortalize yourself in” was nearly impossible… let alone pairing it with its V1 Punk. Over time, I realized I wanted a Big Beard Punk. That wasn’t easy. I hesitated many times… until my 40th birthday, when I finally pulled the trigger. My first Big Beard Punk was great, but it had the “stringy hair” trait, one I never loved. So I kept watching the market, and a few days ago, @whynotmeNFT listed his Big Beard Punk, with Shaved Hair and Earning, which I really liked. I reached out, we agreed on a deal, and with the help of @justinaversano it was done. My forever Punk had arrived!!! But then… I looked for its V1 pairing. Turns out it was in the hands of @tonyherrera, a gentleman I’d met at a Web3 event. I told him I wanted to complete my Punk’s provenance, and guess what? He proposed a swap with another V1 Big Beard I owned. And just like that… I completed the full provenance of my Punks. My Big Beard Punk and its V1 brother, finally reunited.

🍾 ANOUNCEMENT 🥂 I’m incredibly proud to share that William Mapan’s Sketchbook A #64 has been acquired by the @v_and_A museum, and that Sketchbook A #55, Sketchbook B #60, Études #336, #337 and #360 have been collected by @arabbankCH. Both series were released via @solos_gallery. For those unfamiliar, SOLOS is a gallery specialising in releasing curated projects on Verse. Alongside our online programme, we’ve curated IRL exhibitions, produced short films, participated in art fairs, and published monographs. We’ve also commissioned curators from institutions including the V&A, Whitechapel, Serpentine, ZKM and The Photographers’ Gallery to write about our artists and their work. We’ll continue to work with artists whose practices we believe in and whose work we feel deserves a place in the history of contemporary art. The biggest thank you to our collectors and artists. Big thanks for the wonderful response. Sketchbook A meant so much to us, and I’ll always be thankful to @williamapan for putting up with our constant madness and chaos. No wonder he went climbing during the final hours of the ranked auctions.😅 It’s safe to say the series marked a turning point for @verse_works and @solos_gallery. Over 3 million iterations were generated, it was one of our first collector-curated series, and the response to the work and generative art was just infectious, as was the humour of finding yet another goose. I genuinely feel like it was all everyone was talking about. (I wouldn’t hear from @jamiegourlay for days. He was obsessively generating pieces. Now that I think about it, it was quite nice not having him around as much. Thank you once again @williamapan ❤️.) I also really should have thanked earlier the incredible team behind @solos_gallery. @anna_cc29 and @hollywrench were with me every step of the way as we put together exhibitions. I truly couldn’t have done it without them. They’ve both gone on to new adventures, and while I miss them, I’m so pleased for them. ❤️
