@MjTheHunter Tiers is a great idea. That, or a fixed percentage with some kind of minimum and maximum. Keep the refund policy for sure - but accommodate devs who make shorter projects.

I personally really like Steam's refund policy. It's a fantastic for customer reassurance. However, in an age where a lot of games become shorter and more focused I feel like we need different tiers. I think this model made sense 5-10 years ago. While it was still possible to exploit on shorter titles, I'm sure it wasn't as prevalent as now. I've seen the argument that you just need to make longer games and I think that does a disservice to developers who want to focus on shorter playtimes for whatever reason. We all have different preferences in games, genres, length etc., but having everyone be on the same refund policy does seem archaic. I think it's good to have these discussions, and I'm sure Valve takes notice as well. Eventually we will see changes to that policy, I'm sure of it.

This should not be possible @Steam Would be cool if you could finally do something about your refund policy... Got dozens of reviews like that and 21% refund rate even though the Reviews are 90% very positive... Thats over 55,000 Refunds btw...

@CodeRed_dev Yeah, I feel like a lot of game dev advice is to watch for trends, so everything starts to look and feel the same. I feel like trends should be a single data point as you come up with a game idea, not the north star.
