The hate it's getting is quite deserved. They pulled resources from a game people wanted and put it into a game people didn't want. You cannot force someone to enjoy a genre they do not enjoy. Not in the long term.
You need to come to terms with this.

Marathon is free to play next week at the start of the new season….try it! I get it extraction shooters are not for everyone - I had never played one before - but this is arguably a freaking good game - the gun play, the loot, the world. The hate it gets is not deserved.
