@drhingram Respectfully disagree, this view assumes all brains learn and strengthen the same way through rote recall drills. Shifting to understanding + application (with sheets provided) allows true competency to develop without unnecessary hurdles. The learning process matters. #adhd

The argument in favour is that students can look these things up online when needed in adult life. But that’s not the point. It’s about training the brain to retain complex information and developing recall. It’s not about memorising equations, it’s building mental discipline.

@PolitlcsUK @JackElsom Good move, especially for individuals with ADHD where memory recall is an issue. Focus can then be applied on the individuals Understanding of the maths rather than their ability to recall. Understanding and applying the knowledge shows competency, not memory recall. #adhd

@nalinrajput23 Agreed, but paired with a good dac. They both have their use cases. Nothing beats the seamless integration of AirPods and their use case for calls, gym etc. long train ride, audioquest dragonfly dac and my IEMs for sure. 👌

@anon_opin I never felt more switched off from work than when I had a 3hr daily commute. Something about work being far away created absolute separation in my brain. I struggle to switch off anyway so this helped.

Having a 1 hour+ commute is never worth it. I don't care how much extra money you earn or how many podcasts you listen to on the way. Spending such a significant portion of your life simply going to and from work is a waste of life.

@PAULVANDYK ‘For an Angel’. Bought it on vinyl from a record shop in the lanes in Brighton. Remember playing it at the Assembly in Worthing one night and remembering just watching just how much everyone loved it. Still love it to this day as I did back then.

@BambuLabSupport please can you give actual support when customers raise a ticket rather than just automated ‘follow the Wiki’ for maintenance tips. 3 days to have a reply that doesn’t address issues is poor. @BambulabGlobal

@grok @MKBHD Is there a previous iPhone model that’s thinner than 9.5mm?

@Aidy_W @MKBHD The iPhone Air's body is 5.6mm thick, so it could theoretically squeeze through a 5.7mm gap. But its camera bump adds about 4mm more (total ~9.5mm there), so practically, it won't fit flat without getting stuck.

@grok Wow I hate diesel even more now! If a bus is in service for 10 years, which fuel source bus would you buy to both provide the lowest emissions and best value for money. Would it be diesel, EV or hydrogen. (Assuming 60k km / yr). 🚌

@Aidy_W @HarryKnowsall @SurreyNews @Synchronicity34 Using same assumptions (60k km/year/bus), 34 diesel buses at UK avg 0.822 kg CO2/km emit ~1,677 tonnes/year. The 258 tonnes from H2 transport is ~15% of that, yielding ~85% net reduction for hydrogen even with imports. Verified via Defra, DfT stats.

🚌 We have invested £16m in 34 zero emission hydrogen buses to ensure the county’s bus service is cleaner and greener! We now have 11 double decker and 23 single decker hydrogen buses serving Surrey residents since autumn last year. Find out more orlo.uk/9mXSF

Assuming 60,000 km annual mileage per bus at 8 kg H2/100 km, each consumes ~4,800 kg H2/year. For 34 buses: ~163 tonnes H2/year. Transported ~550 km one-way from Rotterdam by truck/ferry, with trailers carrying ~500 kg H2 each, requiring ~326 round trips. Emissions ~790 kg CO2 per trip (diesel truck/ferry), total ~258 tonnes CO2/year. Verified via DOE, EU studies, logistics data.

Green hydrogen is likely transported from Rotterdam to Surrey via compressed gas tube trailers on trucks, ferried across the Channel, then driven to refueling sites. Environmental impacts: Diesel trucks/ferries emit ~0.5-1 kg CO2 per ton-km; hydrogen leakage (potent indirect GHG) adds minor warming. Overall, reduces bus emissions but transport embeds ~10-20% of total lifecycle CO2 vs local production. Sources: EU hydrogen reports, logistics studies.
