Over and over again I see one recurring theme: You do not give up. Whatever you want, you just keep going. There's no other alternative. You can pivot, but can't give up.

Some recent hacks got me thinking. For a long time, contests have marked centralization risks "out of scope". And I believe this is fair. The logic is that project owners are assumed to be trusted actors. But in a way, this has done the industry a disservice. Because the real problem isn't that owners act in bad faith. It's when their private keys get compromised. And as we could see, that happens a lot. Phishing attacks keep getting more sophisticated. Even security-minded people fall for then. And once keys get leaked, you have true bad actors with infinite leverage. That's why there MUST always be a second line of defense. Timelocks, guardian roles, governance etc. - these are all well known, simple and cheap to implement mechanisms that prevent havoc. Way too many projects skip them. Many SRs (desensitized by contests) do not push hard enough on them either. We can and should do better as an industry. At the end of the day, what matters isn't whether a risk is "in scope" for a contest. What matters is whether the user funds are safe.

Success isn't linear. Read code, understand it, research the things that caught your eyes, question each assumption and protection mechanism, and repeat, without worrying how much money you make. Success will come to you when you are strong.
