@NigelBiggar And why not me, a beneficiary of the slave trade?
My distant ancestors in East Africa went into jungle, hunted down, captured and sold fellow Africans as slaves, first to the Arabs, and much later to the transatlantic traders? I am not alone

If Britain must pay reparations for slavery, why not Arab states? Why not African elites descended from slave-traders?
The current campaign depends on a cartoonishly simple tale of white exploiters and black victims. But Africans had been enslaving other Africans for centuries before Europeans appeared off the West African coast, and when British traders came looking for slaves, African traders brought them to the shore.

Zimbabwe's government introduced a bill to parliament on Tuesday that would extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa's term by two years to 2030, despite criticism from a fractured opposition and some veterans of the country's liberation war. reuters.com/world/africa/z…

@Telegraph Social media is doing worse to my native Africa. Tribal hatred is peddled, and tribal war fought online. People "kill" and celebrate the death of their opponents online. @JanetMuseveni has been the latest victim

'It used to be said that the internet emboldened people to say things they would never dare say in real life – but the clear ability for aggression and polarisation to drive engagement has changed that.
'The online spillover to the real world risks fraying our very social fabric.'

@Uchechukwubiaf4 I have deep sympathies for the Biafra genocide victims & families. But we cannot blame the British for the genocide any more than we can blame them for the African-on-African genocide since independence in

@KemiBadenoch And I don't want hear about #reparations for the transatlantic #slave_trade which was ended by Britain 200 years ago.
Instead, I want to hear about Britain & Africa working in partnership to promote fair trade and stem cell as well AI technologies for the common good

@PiersUncensored @piersmorgan @KemiBadenoch Granted, the Bible did a great deal to pioneer human development in my native #Africa.
But Corinthians 14:34 & Ecclesiastes 7:28 would have barred Mrs Thatcher, Kemi and other women from leadership positions. These verses are retrogressive & in conflict with Article 1 of HDHRs

@KemiBadenoch @Conservatives @Ealing_Tories - Benefits are to the work-shy in Britain what foreign aid is to Africa. Cut them because they feed a vicious cycle of dependency culture and poverty. Promote free trade with Africa instead
@DailyMail @DailyMailUK

English

They are no longer the Labour Party, they are the Welfare Party. It doesn’t matter who is in charge of these people, the party for Benefits Street will tax us all into poverty to pay for more welfare.
Pat McFadden has said in private what he and the Prime Minister deny in public. As I’ve said repeatedly, Labour MPs don’t understand where money comes from. They think our taxes are their money to spend, rather than the result of the hard work of the people in our country who deserve so much better.
The Conservative party is the only party holding Labour to account, as Reform, Lib Dems the SNP and others join Labour in demanding the state pay more and more benefits.
Conservatives@Conservatives
Labour's Welfare Secretary admitted to Peter Mandelson what he won’t tell you. Labour raised your taxes to pay for more benefits.
