The entrance of Goodluck Jonathan into the presidential race has completely changed the dynamics of the election. Peter Obi appears to be the biggest loser in this political equation. By choosing someone academically and politically bigger than himself as a running mate, he may have unintentionally retired his own presidential ambition after what could be his last shot in 2027. Now, regardless of the outcome of the 2027 election, the North is likely to produce the president in 2031. In the end, a selfish decision may have crashed his own dream.

Something is happening inside APC, and only the politically blind will ignore it. When a sitting House Leader of the House of Representatives loses his re-election ticket inside his own party primary, that is not ordinary local politics. That is a warning bell. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere was not a small name. He was not an outsider begging for space. He was an incumbent, a ranking lawmaker, and one of the most visible APC figures in the National Assembly. Yet Hon. Ijegbai Andrew defeated him. That alone should tell Nigerians that the APC structure is no longer as solid as they advertise. The same party that keeps boasting of federal might is now watching powerful insiders struggle to survive ordinary primaries. If incumbency, title, influence, and Abuja connection could not save a sitting House Leader, then many APC big names should start checking their political blood pressure before 2027. The deeper story is this: hardship has changed the political mood. People are angry. Delegates are angry. Constituents are angry. Grassroots politicians are angry. Even people inside APC are beginning to understand that the party’s brand has become heavy baggage. Hunger, fuel price, inflation, insecurity, unemployment, and broken promises are no longer abstract campaign topics. They are daily experiences. This is why ADC must not be distracted by APC propaganda. The ruling party is not as strong as it looks from outside. Many of their walls are already cracking from within. What remains is noise, intimidation, and the illusion of control. 2027 will not be decided by empty confidence from Abuja. It will be decided ward by ward, polling unit by polling unit, constituency by constituency. And if APC heavyweights are already falling inside APC primaries, imagine what will happen when millions of frustrated Nigerians finally enter the polling booth. The message is clear: power is shifting, anger is rising, and the old political arrogance is becoming weaker every day. ADC must keep building.

As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, in the coming days, I will formally and publicly endorse the candidate I intend to vote and campaign for. My decision will be based on careful consideration, patriotism, competence, vision and what I genuinely believe is best for the development, unity, stability and future of our great country. When the time comes, I will present the convincing reasons behind my position, with the hope of contributing positively to the democratic process and encouraging issue-based political engagement. So help me God!

@jon_d_doe Is it to get more votes or to win? After this election, Obi won’t be politically relevant—He might now be Vice which he has refused to, that is, if he’s even approached.

I want to make a prediction. Because Atiku will not step aside for Peter Obi in ADC, if Peter Obi decides to go to another political party, Peter Obi will not win the presidential elections. Tinubu will win. But Peter Obi will get more votes than Atiku. End.
