Sure you can earn a billion dollars. I've been teaching people how to do it for 20 years. The way you do it is to start a company that grows fast. You don't have to do anything bad to make a company grow fast. You just have to make something people want. paulgraham.com/ace.html

AOC: “There’s a certain level of wealth and accumulation that is unearned. You can’t earn a billion dollars. You just can’t earn that. You can get market power, you can break rules, you can abuse labor laws, you can pay people less than what they’re worth, but you can’t earn that”

Small businesses in South Carolina are taking a beating. One big reason is because they can’t afford the expensive and senseless regulatory environment the government created at the behest of corporations. Senate Republicans can pass regulatory reform tonight that would ensure only regulations that are truly needed get passed.

The transfer portal is a wild place. @CitadelHoops surely just pulled one of their most unique transfers. He'll be a 30-year-old junior. A father. A navy veteran. He never played HS hoops. Went from military teams, to JUCO, to Green Bay to here. Meet Mel Bethea.

@SEisbergWCIV @CitadelHoops When people say 30 year olds shouldn’t be playing, they always forget about former military. Whether after WWII, Korea, Vietnam or our latest, there are guys who don’t fit the mold but still embody the ethos. That deserves respect.

The Citadel beats South Carolina for a second time this season 😳 The Bulldogs win back-to-back games against the Gamecocks for the first time since 2009.

Just a way to eliminate more conference automatic qualifiers from competing in the main draw, the real goal of this move. I suspect in two or three years there will be a further reduction of auto qualifiers into the round of 64.

Sources: The NCAA has initiated the final steps to expand the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments to 76 teams. The expansion is on track to be formalized in the upcoming weeks, with mid-May as the target. The 76-team tournaments begin next year. espn.com/mens-college-b…

The only way this doesn’t suck is if they made it mandatory to include more mid majors. But we all know it’s going to be a bunch of mid big conference schools

@olmec26 But NCAA enforcement can’t conclude an investigation in less than 5 years, so it’ll just mean vacated wins or something else meaningless

This is not a political ad, even though I congratulate the Governor of Montana for doing something good. Nor is it a commercial for a big national bank, even though I congratulate @WellsFargo for doing something good. This is actually an ad for mikeroweWORKS, even though I don’t mention my foundation by name until the last few seconds, or congratulate myself for doing anything at all. And yet, every time this ad airs, hundreds of people run to mikeroweWORKS.org to apply for a work ethic scholarship or donate to the cause. For that reason, I’d be grateful if you shared this. As you may have heard, we’ve got $10 million set aside for this next round of scholarships, and I’m doing what I can to make this our biggest year so far. I’m also curious about any theories you might have, as to why an ad that was filmed on my iPhone and cost exactly zero dollars to produce is outperforming all the others.

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

33 years ago today, the government did "common-sense gun control".
Spike Cohen@RealSpikeCohen

On this day 30 years ago, the US government murdered 82 men, women and children. Why? Because some federal agencies wanted a budget increase, and they needed to create a boogeyman to justify it. They descended on Waco, Texas to arrest David Koresh for allegedly modifying weapons to make them into "machine guns", though they had no physical evidence of that. Instead of simply arresting Koresh one of the many times prior to the siege that he left the compound alone, or simply allowing him to surrender after his manifesto was released, they chose instead to trap dozens of families in their compound, set it on fire, and shoot anyone who tried to escape as it burned. The government then slandered the names of the Branch Davidians to the public, to try to convince us that it was good that they had murdered families, even children and babies. We remember them today. Here are the names we know: Mary Jean Borst, 49 at time of death Pablo Cohen, 38 Evette Fagan, 34 Lisa Marie Farris, 26 Dayland Gent, 3 Peter Gent, 24 Diana Henry, 28 Paulina Henry, 24 Phillip Henry, 22 Stephen Henry, 26 Vanessa Henry, 19 Zilla Henry, 55 Cyrus Howell, 8 Rachel Howell, 23 Star Howell, 6 Sherri Lynn Jewell, 23 David Michael Jones, 30 Michelle Jones, 18 Perry Jones, age unknown Serenity Sea Jones, 4 Bobbie Lane Koresh, 16 months Nicole Elizabeth Little, 24 Jeffery Little, 32 Douglas Wayne Martin, 42 Lisa Martin, 13 Sheila Martin, 15 Abigail Martinez, 11 Audrey Martinez, 13 Crystal Martinez, 3 Isaiah Martinez, 4 Joseph Martinez, 8 Juliete Santoyo Martinez, 30 Jillane Matthews, age unknown Alison Bernadette Monbelly, 31 Melissa Morrison, 6 Rosemary Morrison, 29 Theresa Noberega, 48 Judy Schneider, 41 Mayanah Schneider, 2 Steve Schneider, 48 Mayanah Schneider, 2 Michael Schroeder, 29 Laraine B. Silva, 40 Floracita Sonobe, 34 Scott Kojiro Sonobe, 35 Aisha Gyarfas Summers, 17 Gregory Allen Summers, 28 Startle Summers, 1 Hollywood Sylvia, age unknown Lorraine Sylvia, 40 Rachel Sylvia, 13 Stanley Sylvia, age unknown Doris Vaega, age unknown Margarida Joann Vaega, 47 Neal Vaega, 37 Jaydean Carnwell Wendel, age unknown Mark H. Wendel, age unknown May your memories be a great blessing. Your deaths will not be in vain. We will end the ATF and FBI, and the cult of deference to an out-of-control government that allows murderous organizations like them to continue to exist.
