@MadiHilly I'm confused. What about the SMR "Fast" reactors that will use spent nuclear fuel and reduce radioactive waste by a factor of 10? The Stanford study only looked at 3 of the 70 designs being tested globally, and those 3 were not 'Fast' reactors. What do you think about them?

For years, I have been urged to back smaller "advanced" reactors over existing nuclear tech because it would be more palatable for anti-nukes. But as these non-existent reactors get closer to reality, it’ll become increasingly clear how silly that idea was.

If you pretend it's not there, you can still virtue signal about "saving the planet".

Ontario is considering a (long-term) plan to build a large nuclear power plant near Port Hope. The plant may produce 8 to 10 GW of power! One reason is that Ontario's power demand is projected to increase by ~75% in future decades. Article link in reply.
