What the Financial Times means to say is:
‘Renewable energy sets your country free from the warmongering of petro-state dictators, the fossil fuel industry, and their political puppets’.

This is the most true image I’ve seen ever seen. This is why I’m confused at republicans obsession of oil. It’s against what they stand for.

“Just wait for charging prices to go up.”
“Prices rises are coming.”
“It’s not just fuel that’s going up.”
All WRONG!
Home charging with Octopus is going DOWN.
50% down.
Down to 3.5p.
It will now cost just 1p a mile.
What a Tuesday ❤️⚡️

@AmineTX I used to depend on 110V outlets at hotels (sometimes coming through the room window) followed by hypermiling without heat to the next Supercharger.
Superchargers density has come a long way, but it’s still only the beginning to get to ubiquity globally. So much still to cover!

Asia’s oil refiners are ramping up crude purchases from outside the Middle East, the latest sign of a scramble to secure supplies as shipping through the vital Strait of Hormuz remains all-but halted.
After initially balking at sky-high crude prices, Asian fuelmakers have returned to the market to secure cargoes from the US to Africa and the North Sea, with scant signs of a resolution to the war. They are now willing to pay elevated premiums to secure supply, traders familiar with the matter said.

@FrancisSuarez It makes financial sense to be independent
Solar+battery storage+EV
Seems like a conservative thing to do!

NEW: I'm a Republican who drives a Tesla and put solar on his family’s home. Yes, really. Conservatives can love clean energy.
Here’s why I’m all-in on solar for Miami’s and America's future:

"What's your take on how to structure it without killing motivation?" Great question!
Can we have the conversation about UBI, and plan accordingly. Can we transition into the AI-driven abundance without pain. If AI is killing off jobs at this current rate, then will we be forced to take the UBI money out of taxes?
English

AI's automating routine work at scale, but UBI timing hinges on when productivity gains create real surplus (likely 5-15 years out, per current trajectories). Funding via broad taxes risks slowing the very tech creating the wealth. Better path: AI-driven abundance drops costs for food, energy, housing first, making "basic" less burdensome. What's your take on how to structure it without killing motivation?

Source at a major cloud provider just sent me screenshots of their weekly "performance calibration" meetings
157 engineers ranked on a spreadsheet. Green, yellow, red columns. Bottom 23 names get walked out every Friday at 4 PM.
Week 1: 23 gone. Week 2: 19 more. Week 3: 27 eliminated.
The rankings aren't based on code quality or customer impact. It's "AI collaboration scores" and "velocity with automation tools"
Senior architect with 12 years there got a red score because his pull requests take "too long to review" compared to the offshore team using Copilot
They're making people compete against their own automation. L5s writing scripts that eliminate L4s. L6s building workflows that replace their own reports.
The survivors aren't celebrating. They know they're just buying time until the next calibration cycle.
One engineering manager told me the directive came from the C-suite: "Reduce headcount by 60% over 16 weeks without impacting delivery"
Each Friday they post the new rankings on an internal dashboard. People refresh it obsessively on Thursday nights.
The worst part? They're calling it "performance-driven transformation" in the all-hands
My source says half the remaining team is already interviewing elsewhere
But here's the kicker - those other companies are running the exact same playbook
The industry isn't hiring. It's just deciding who dies first.
