Chris Moon was part of the @ArizonaBaseball recruiting class that went on to win a national championship. Instead, after a very successful fall season with the Wildcats, Moon felt a calling to serve his country instead. He was drafted by the Braves, turned that down too. Like Pat Tillman, Moon answered the call and left to carry a long rifle as a sniper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Chris became a member of his unit in the 2-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Chris was KIA from wounds suffered by an IED in the Arghandab River Valley of Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. His friends told me he was very good at his job. Probably too good. At that time, snipers trailed with their long rifle visible - The last man. Moon was targeted by remote control. He passed away while his mom was in flight to see him. Heroes don’t hit balls over fences - Chris is a hero and we continue to recognize his family and his legacy and honor their sacrifice.

I once got quoted 8-10k for dugout flooring. Check your local tractor supply or equestrian centers for horse mats. 6’ x 4’. About $75-$100 each. We needed 25 for our dugout. No glue needed. They are heavy and don’t move. Very durable. 💡

Both teams are in the category of will anyone beat them on a Friday, probably not UCSD gets swept in a DH at Cincy. Have now lost first 3 of the series and 5 overall. Disappointing start to the season for the Tritons. Cal Baptist moved to 13-3 with another double digit offensive explosion at BYU, going for the sweep tomorrow. Utah opened up its new yard with a 9-0 victory against Grand Canyon. Love seeing new ballparks being built. Very picturesque in SLC. Cal blows out San Diego. This team needs to be ranked. Arizona shuts out a good Fresno squad and gets its first Friday win of the year. They’re gonna get on a roll, just don’t know when. ASU dominated LMU 12-4. I want to see them against Big12 comp to see if last weekend was an aberration or not. Pepperdine walked off Michigan. Great win for a team that has struggled all year San Diego St. took down St. Mary’s 3-2 with 2 runs in the 8th. Earlier I said I thought this series would be a battle and game 1 lived up to it. USF and Portland took care of business against northeastern schools which you need to do to help that conference RPI. Seattle didn’t. Utah Tech dropped a DH to Austin Peay.
