Yep. And the OBBB guaranteed future inflation by locking in $2 Trillion Annual Deficits. The MAGA GOP is reckless, NOT conservative & NOT competent!

@JoshEakle Another 80+ year old that has been in Congress for over 20 years & has filed to run for yet another term.
Perfect example of why we need TERM LIMITS!!
English

A 10-year-old wrote MAGA Congresswoman Virginia Foxx for a school project.
He chose to write about an electric vehicle tax credit. Something he thought was good for the environment.
Virginia responded by attacking him and his teacher for being propagandized.
Her words: “your teacher will not be able to give you a good education as they are too interested in indoctrinating you... How sad.”
An 80-year-old woman. Attacking a 10-year-old. For doing his homework.
These people have power over your life.
English

@BigSkyIsAwesome That doesn't even make sense. Are you a bot from Nigeria?
English

@Alan_bigsky Yet you vote for Democrats and Republicans that cost your personal budget even more.
English

While Democrats are whining about the price of gas for political reasons, let's not forget they want to raise our taxes by 10 times the extra amount we are paying for gas. Democrats prefer gasoline prices to be even higher, since they think burning gasoline is causing the current Montana drought.
Jesse James Mullen@jmullen2
End the gas tax, bring our troops home. Talking about the $2/gallon from this stupid war, not the 18 cents/gallon that fills potholes on the Interstate and keep traffic and business moving all over our country.
English

@braxton_mccoy Agreed. Can we force him to make shows about New Jersey or Ohio instead?!?
English

You got that right!
Moderate Democrats & Republicans plus Independents is BY FAR the biggest group of voters in the country.
Successful candidates will tap into these voters and come out on top.
Fiscally disciplined & moderate/conservative (balanced budget), eliminate tax loopholes for the rich.
Tough on crime, closed borders, fix immigration.
Fix health care, get on board the healthier food/farming movement while reforming the FDA & CDC.

There is a new lane that is forming made up of people from the right and left that are fed up with both parties because both parties have failed the average American.
The new center shares a common America First perspective and arguably could be bigger than both parties.
Americans who no longer want to fund foreign wars, want the hard earned dollars they work for to comfortably afford a good life, and want corrupt elites like the Epstein class held accountable.
These are the basic common ground issues that bring independent minded common sense Americans together.
And it’s the most refreshing thing happening, mostly among the younger generations, to organically be happening in America in a very long time after so many years of toxic political divide.
We need to lean into this.
United we stand.
Divided we fall.

The largest national park in America is bigger than Switzerland.
And it's only one piece of something even larger.
Wrangell–St. Elias sits in southeastern Alaska, where four mountain ranges collide.
Within its boundaries are nine of the 16 tallest peaks in the United States, more than 150 glaciers, the largest non-polar icefield on Earth, and the biggest population of Dall sheep on the continent.
If you cross the eastern boundary into Canada, you'll enter Kluane National Park. Drop south and you're in Tatshenshini-Alsek and Glacier Bay.
Together, these four parks form a single connected wilderness of more than 24 million acres across two countries, larger than the entire country of South Korea and the largest transboundary protected area on the planet.
Within it, bears, caribou, wolves, and salmon can move across an entire ecosystem the way they evolved to, without hitting a road, a fence, or a city.
Most of the planet's great wildernesses are getting smaller.
The Amazon is being fragmented by roads. The Serengeti is hemmed in by farmland. Russia's Far East is opening up to logging and mining. The pieces keep getting cut into smaller pieces.
This one is still whole.
It stayed whole because two countries agreed it was worth keeping that way.
Wildlife evolved at the scale of landscapes, not just parks. Some places only work if you protect all of it.

Federal deficit is out of control & the GOP is spending money like a drunken hedge fund manager. And where is DOGE?
Politicians are bought and paid for & no longer work for the American people.
The corruption is this Administration is rampant & Congress needs to bring it under control.
Trump has dementia, the DOJ is covering up his evidence in the Epstein Files & he's compromised by Putin. 💯% UNFIT TO SERVE!!
English

Same guy who says don't bother saving for the future because we'll all have universal basic income says we can't afford social security - which we paid for.
Meanwhile, what happened to all those DOGE cuts?
The problem is the GOP CAN'T GOVERN - terrible execution of everything they do - except for spending a billion dollars on a ballroom...
English

@Scout_503 That's b.s., total corruption.
Just think, we could fund a lot of Somalians with that money - now they'll have to go without child care & leaning centers. 👎👎😠
English

This is getting wild now 👀
So I started looking at the ballroom after digging into the Reflecting Pool yesterday. I’m starting to see some patterns.
The playbook works like this. Pick your contractor personally. Invoke “Unusual and Compelling Urgency” to skip competition. Use the 250th anniversary as the justification. Inflate the price. Don’t disclose who’s actually doing the work. Repeat.
Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. $13.1M. No bid. No competition. Justification: “Unusual and Compelling Urgency” 250th anniversary. Contractor: Atlantic Industrial. Zero prior federal contracts. No pool or monument experience. The subcontractor doing the actual work doesn’t appear anywhere in the justification documents.
Now the ballroom. Trump personally selected Clark Construction to build his $400M White House ballroom. Clark is already on site with people and equipment. Then NPS quietly awards Clark a separate $17.4M no-bid contract to fix two fountains in Lafayette Park directly across the street. Never posted publicly. Never competitively bid. The justification? Clark was already nearby. That’s it.
The original estimate for those fountains in 2022 was $3.3M. The consultant who wrote that estimate said the administration literally took his cover page and added millions with no itemization. Final price: $17.4M. Same urgency exemption. Same 250th anniversary justification.
Both contracts bypassed competitive bidding. Both used the same urgency exemption. Both cited the same 250th anniversary. Both awarded to contractors with direct Trump connections. The Lafayette Park contract was never posted in public federal spending databases. The Reflecting Pool contract was posted but the subcontractor doing the primary work appears nowhere in the paperwork.
Combined taxpayer bill: over $30 million. Combined competitive bids received: zero. This urgency exemption has been used in less than 1% of NPS contracts over the past decade. They used it twice in the same year. For birthday decorations.
Senator Blumenthal is already demanding answers on the Lafayette Park contract by May 15th. The Reflecting Pool has a Cabinet secretary photographed on site and a subcontractor with an expired federal registration that isn’t mentioned anywhere in the contract documents.
This isn’t two separate stories. This is one story. The 250th anniversary isn’t just a celebration. It’s a billing mechanism. And taxpayers are footing the bill with zero say in who got the work or why..

The path of least resistance to reducing the cost of medical care is to require all Non Profit Hospitals and providere to be required to post on their website a Real Time and downloadable General Ledger with all entries
The same for all supply chain transactions In detail
There is no reason why taxpayers shouldn't see every penny they are subsidizing None
There are no competitive reasons we don't subsizie you to maximize revenues or profits We let you be NP to maximize outcomes and we deserve to see every penny and where it comes from and where it goes, and why
Problem solved

The same politicians keep getting voted in every election cycle.
Voter's aren't asking the tough questions about fraud, immigration & the massive deficit.
Voter's are allowing politicians to campaign on tax breaks without demanding to know HOW the budget will be balanced.
Voter's voted for Trump AGAIN even after a disastrous 1st term & knowing that he lies about EVERYTHING.
Until there are new representatives there is no chance of change.
Going forward, term limits will insure a better turnover of elected officials.

Inflation is the 2 - 4% range, so a net increase of around 3 - 4%.
What accounts for the increase - are there one off items or general increases?
It's easy to complain about taxes, harder to be specific. If there are specific line items that aren't necessary, perhaps the City officials would consider changing those.
As for property taxes, the biggest change has been due to increased property values. The (conservative) state politicians decided to cut income taxes that mostly benefited the top earners, and left property taxes alone until last session - those changes will show up this year for residents that qualify.
Gianforte has moved the state toward a flat tax system for income taxes - plus a discount for capital gains. That means the wealthy that make most of their income from financial gains, pay less than worker's income.
So if you don't like the current system, perhaps you should ask the conservative politicians to make the rich pay higher rates & eliminate the capital gains discount for higher earners, then reduce property taxes.
Me, I think income taxes should be reduced from the bottom up, not the top down - or at least a compromise.
English

@ZelenskyyUa To hell with that - keep hammering the crap of those losers until every last one of them is off of your soil!
The momentum is on your side, run with it while you can.

Many new threats are coming from Russia right now. Although we have taken an entirely logical and clear position for the Russians – we will mirror their actions.
Today, they began the day with shelling on the frontline, and there was assault activity. Drones are being used. Yesterday, they carried out even more air strikes. Our responses were in kind.
What tomorrow brings depends on what we hear today.
English

@lemmiwinkster More tax cuts for the rich, less benefits for the working class. The GOP doesn't care about anything else.
English

🚨Tax Announcement Montana🚨
"But the next step, and we're going to try to get this done in 2027, is to go to what's called a 'flat tax,'" Gianforte explained.
"That's one tax rate on income; everybody pays the same rate - you make more, you pay more; if you make less, you pay less."
"The idea might sound bizarre to some, and Governor Gianforte understands that but wants Montanans to know this isn't a new concept."
What do you think?

New SNAP stocking standards are raising the bar for real nutrition.
We’re requiring more than 250,000 retailers to stock, at minimum, 28 varieties of healthy staples. more than doubling the old minimum of just 12. That means 7 varieties per category.
🥩 More real meat, poultry & fish
🥛 More dairy
🍞 More nutritious breads & grains
🥦 More fruits & vegetables
No more loopholes letting jelly count as fruit or processed snacks stand in for real food!
Better nutrition for families. Stronger protection for taxpayers against waste and fraud.
This is MAHA in action!

Breaking news: it was a helluva lot more than $400M, the money was excess from a military program that should have gone back to the treasury (toward the massive debt), it was redirected to outfit the plane without approval of Congress.
And plane is supposed to be Trump's personal plane after he leaves office.
Plus a Billion for a Ballroom?
Massive waste & fraud.
English

🚨 so let me get this straight..
Qatar gave the US a Boeing 747 in 2025..
the Air Force spent $400 million of your tax dollars modifying it..
and now it's being painted gold.. red.. white.. and dark blue.. to fly over the White House on July 4th..
America's 250th birthday..
the permanent Air Force One replacements are still delayed.. Boeing can't finish them.. so this Qatar-gifted bridge jet is the plan..
and here's what nobody wants to say out loud..
the gold isn't a standard Air Force One color.. it's never been on a presidential aircraft before.. it's the same gold on Trump's buildings.. his lobbies.. his brand..
so the plane your country didn't buy.. modified with $400 million you didn't vote to spend.. is about to fly over your head in the color scheme of one man's personal aesthetic.. on the day America celebrates being a republic..
foreign gift → $400 million in taxpayer modifications → gold paint → national birthday flyover..
the rules only apply until you're the one making them.
I'll share more details shortly so turn on notifications, this is VERY important.
