A video circulating online shows a gunman firing into a northeast Calgary home and is now being examined as part of a wider investigation into extortion-related shootings. The Calgary Police Service says two homes were targeted in separate early-morning incidents over the weekend. Around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, suspects fired multiple shots into a residence on Saddleridge Drive NE before fleeing in a white sedan. Just after midnight Monday, another home on Savanna Park NE was struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. Investigators believe both incidents are connected to a series of extortions targeting members of Calgary’s South Asian community.
