🤔 Wow, this is a puzzler for me. Bike hits kid. Bus had flashing red lights. But bike path = separate network. Cars blocking view. Who yields? Does stop sign apply to bike paths?

Quick thread from a 3 p.m. update at the Washoe County Registrar's office. Deputy Registrar of Voters Andrew McDonald said long lines in Washoe County are "because people are turning out in record numbers," + there have been very few security incidents or other issues at polls.

Still in awe of the paramedics who somehow got an IV in me after I was down for >10 minutes due to cardiac arrest. It was 4am, dark, and their hazmat suit face shields were fogging up. Sounds impossible.

But in some cases enforcement is necessary, including automated well-placed and equitable red light and speed cameras.

Investigations indicate that excessive speed by the motorcycle rider played a significant role in this crash. This marks the 123rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024.
