@TobbyMLP @FullTimeBlack25 YOO thank you for mentioning this. I've been noticing this for ages on the YT uploads of those seasons and always commented how it looks like the blacks have been lifted or smth. Super weird that's how it was distributed though.... And that it's allegedly different on Netflix

@FullTimeBlack25 Some early versions of season 1 & 2 were aired and distributed with unintended washed out colors. This is why later seasons may appear to be "brighter", but in reality that's just how the show was always supposed to look

@speech_ka_ @HSVSphere And if you interpret it like that, that one statement you've put inside the if (which is the braced scope block) is being specially treated indentation wise, even though it's a statement "inside" the if.

@speech_ka_ @HSVSphere If you have "if (...) { ... }" you could actually interpret it as two separate pieces. First is the if itself, if (...), which is that pattern followed by ONE statement. And then the second bit is actually a statement: a scope block. Remember you can put {}s anywhere you want.

The GNU indentation style actually makes sense... No I haven't been brainwashed, I jusy thought about it It's 2 spaces, but blocks don't get special treatment in if bodies, so you get: if (foo) { bar };

@HSVSphere Holy shit I never even thought of if statements like that you're right. Still a very cured way to indent, but yeah, logically (and no doubt in many recursive decent parsers) they are two separate things and that's why single-line ifs are a thing (they're all single-line), crazy

(This is a completely and utterly pointless act, by the way, and absolutely the wrong direction imo. But I guess that's to be expected of a project that can't even update a sentence of the README?)

@NearestCommit I reckon, in addition to all the stuff people are saying about the translation layer, that install could have had no Swap too (?). In Windows it's not only enabled by default but also the OS OOMs quite quickly with it off even on 16GB.

@saiyanhajime I saw "Crush40" at a con once. The flier said "CRUSH40" in big letters and real real tiny above it was "Johhny from." He got on stage and sang by himself to a backing track while game footage played behind him. "Crush40"

Windows Apologists need an attitude readjustment. The problem isn't specs. It's the OS What's the use of better hardware if the software is a bloated, unoptimized mess, shitting the bed in a new way after every update? That's why the Neo "feels" so fast: extreme optimization.

@BugsBunny30143 @AntonMartyniuk *references* it has to check, because now the references you've passed are only on the stack while the method is being called. But that's gonna be completely and utterly negligible unless you were making 10,000s of these controllers.

@BugsBunny30143 @AntonMartyniuk Passing an interface to something isn't a heap allocation. The allocation occurs when you first make the thing that implements the interface (or box a struct to an interface), no more from there. You are right that in the method case the GC *technically* has fewer

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀? Many devs don't know this 👇 You can inject dependencies into Controller in 2 ways: ↳ Constructor ↳ Method injection Have you ever worked with bloated controllers that accept too many dependencies in their constructor? And the called endpoint is using only some of these dependencies. ❌ You waste memory because all constructor dependencies are allocated on the heap when the Controller is called - regardless if they are used or not. ✅ So why not just inject the needed objects directly into the endpoint method? You can inject it without a [FromServices] attribute, it's no longer needed. Just like in Minimal APIs. By injecting dependencies only where needed, you improve readability, maintainability and performance of your controllers. Uncover other secrets in my 650+ hand-picked resources for mastering C#, .NET, ASP .NET Core, EF Core, and Microservices. @F1BF90 @WindowsCentral Which, honestly, doesn't even surprise me. It seems every single new layer they add on top of the increasingly tipping stack (instead of just getting in and changing it) things just become more and more brittle.

@F1BF90 @WindowsCentral Oh believe me, they have. In Win11 they've _covered_ the UI in these things called "XAML Islands", which is basically embeds of WinUI. Unfortunately, WinUI is slow(even the basic operations in it are over x100 regressed from WPF) and they seem to break absolutely constantly in 11

Ugly and inconsistent Windows 11 apps could be a thing of the past — but Microsoft still can't figure out how numbers work. WinUI Gallery is a digital showroom of sorts for developers, showing what UI elements look like on a PC and providing code samples to help create software that aligns with Microsoft's design framework. Now, it's been bumped up to version 2.8, with newly added samples and improvements (1/2)
