March 2026 will probably become the warmest March on record for the United States and the *warmest month compared to average* overall, pending final data. It was a remarkable 7 degrees above-average across the country as a whole.

In Phoenix, Arizona, temperatures could reach an unbelievable 107°F (+42°C) on Friday. If that verifies, it would break the record for the earliest occurrence of 107°F since records began in 1895, pulverising the previous record by a whopping 44 days. This is totally bonkers.

🥵 History will be made next week! The NOAA NDFD forecast high for Palm Springs, CA on Friday is now 111!! Insane for March. That would smash the current US record for hottest March day (108°) in Texas. And that merely scratches the surface as to how rogue this western heat wave will be next week. Hundreds of cities will break all-time records for March and even April. #heatwave 🥵
