Sound on. Atmos Games (my lil indie studio) puts a premium on mood and atmosphere above everything else. If the vibe isn't perfect, the game doesn't get released. This game is called Twisted Tower. Coming out soon maybe maybe not.

@AlexDulDev @CodeRed_dev It certainly is possible. Nearly all companies we hold in low regard, were amazing before they went and became massive public assets. Even when they were fairly large. It's not size and money, that makes one evil. It's evil. Be Iwatas and Newells, not Pitchfords and Howards.

If you ever make it big as a solo dev or small team, DON'T expand. This is like one of the things that can sink a studio.

@LinHero_20xx @CodeRed_dev I don't think it's possible. You have to give away increasingly more control. The financial environment creates erosion. It's death by a 1000 cuts. The larger you are and the longer you exist for increases the chances of failure in this regard. It's no wonder it hasn't been done.

@LinHero_20xx @CodeRed_dev It's not just big, meanAAA studio exploting it's fanbase financially. It's the leadership and investors pushing for enshitification. If you expand and "Go big" too soon you end up being under the thumb of those same people.

@CodeRed_dev The solution is not to never expand. Because thats WHY we have no one to topple the AAA giants. Everyone is a coward too scared to lose their "Indie" status. Its to not be a fucking retarded scumbag, keep your ego humble and defend your legacy.

@CodeRed_dev Finding 2-3 people that are trustworthy is the task of a lifetime. "Making it big" always comes at the cost of losing control and cohesion. Heck, making a decent game is hard enough. If you made a good game, you already found all or most of what you need.

@BRaB177 @FireshineGames Played it mostly solo. It's still fun and viable. It will just take you more time to feel powerful. But I can confirm it's still fun and absolutely doable.
