@GunOwnersofCana I’ve been a cop 18 years. Never arrested a PAL holder committing an offence with their firearm. Many of us have our own firearms that are now banned. The confiscation scheme is complete waste. PAL holders are not the problem.

@TWilsonOttawa I absolutely believe your advocacy made a huge impact. The CCFR has been instrumental in demonstrating to Canadians the ineffectiveness of the confiscation, by continually using facts and reason. You pushed the window open so others could jump through.

We do a lot of big things at the CCFR but sometimes it’s the tiny side projects that make a difference. I can’t be sure if we contributed to the massive opposition from law enforcement or not, but it surely didn’t hurt. Do everything, all of it, all the time 🇨🇦❤️👊🏻

@Osint613 No AIM-9’s or 120’s on the wingtips for self-defence? I know the Iranian Air Force is basically wiped out, but isn’t it better to have them and not need them, than need them and not have them?

@GunOwnersofCana 308 Canadians died by drowning in 2022 (last year stats available). This is vastly higher than firearms deaths, both legal and illegal. No one ‘needs’ to swim. If we decide we can’t accept any risk, we should be banning all pools.

Seems that the RCMP Firearm Lab had classified firearms fine for decades, until political pressure was put on them. And it’s clear that certain new high ranking hires were the ones to put that pressure on them. The property was fine in licenced hands until it became political theatre to prohibit it. As a doctor we’re surprised you don’t take a strong stance on alcohol, considering how many lives it takes directly or indirectly every year. A relative of ours was killed by a drunk driver in the 90s. We blame them. Not the inanimate substance they chose to consume and get behind the wheel.

@WallStreetMav Canadian here that’s off to Florida with the family next month. Americas are our friends and family, I will never forget that. Also, Florida isn’t Mexico or Cuba. My family is actually safe under the 🇺🇸 .

Are Canadians boycotting travel to the USA? Or are they just broke due to their socialist government taking everything and making life unaffordable?

@GailSmithlegal @GunOwnersofCana Yes of course, I agree. The number is tiny, but not 0. However, if society wishes to stop every crime committed with a legal gun, you have to ban ALL guns. This program is not that. There are more effective ways to achieve that.

Police services know that licenced firearm owners are some of their biggest supporters in a world where wearing a badge makes a large portion of the public severely dislike you. They know what the real problems are - and it isn’t us. Stop the confiscation of property from some of the most responsible people in the country, before any future government loses their trust, forever.

@GunOwnersofCana I would argue that one of the (unspoken) goals of this program is to drive a wedge between law enforcement and firearms owners. Divide and conquer.

It’s amazing how often we hear this. It’s often paired with: ‘this confiscation is so stupid’.

@TWilsonOttawa I’d love to see a bilateral agreement with America that look like; American states recognize PAL’s and Canada recognizes CCW’s from them. All laws in each country still apply. Other than that, Canadian citizens only.

@buperac Always interesting when the Elbows Up crowd proudly states that the EU and others would come to our defence. A they won’t and B they couldn’t if they wanted to. No military could get close to North America without being obliterated.

You think war with China is bad? You think war with India is bad? You think war with Iran is bad? That’s nothing compared to war with the USA. The U.S. doesn't just fight wars; it masters global logistics. Its defense budget (over $850 billion) is roughly equal to the next ten countries combined. It operates 11 nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike groups—floating sovereign cities that allow the U.S. to project overwhelming power anywhere on the globe within 48 hours. No other nation on Earth has more than two. The U.S. possesses the largest and most advanced air force in the world. (For context, the second largest air force in the world is the U.S. Navy). With 5th-generation stealth fighters (the F-22 and F-35) and stealth bombers (the B-2 and new B-21), they control the skies and space. You cannot shoot down what your radars cannot see. They possess precision-guided munitions that can drop a "bunker-buster" bomb down a specific ventilation shaft from miles above. They also utilize the Hellfire R9X "Ninja" drone missile, which uses pop-out kinetic blades instead of explosives to eliminate specific individuals without collateral damage. Backing this up is a perfectly maintained "Nuclear Triad" (the ability to launch nukes from land silos, stealth bombers, and deep-sea submarines). The U.S. military has been in a state of near-constant global deployment since World War II. In 1991’s Operation Desert Storm, they used modern combined-arms tactics to systematically dismantle the world's 4th largest army in a matter of weeks with sci-fi-level precision. You will never see an American soldier. Before you even lace up your boots, your power grids will go dark, your communications will be jammed, and your command centers will be leveled by pilots sitting in Nevada. Mark Carney can play all the games he wants, when the U.S. signals that the games are over either Mark Carney will go away or Canada will go away. Prepare accordingly. Thank God the USA tolerates Canada.

VISA-FREE travel to China for 30 days. 🇨🇳 At the SAME TIME… Canada’s own travel advisory says: ⚠️ EXERCISE A HIGH DEGREE OF CAUTION. So let me get this straight The Liberal government is PROMOTING travel to a country it warns you to be careful in. You can’t make this up.

@brianlilley If you’re the Canadian government, offer 0 tariffs on everything in exchange for the same. Start as that as the base case and go from there.

I've said many times, stop trying to convince the Trump admin that tariffs are bad or they hurt Americans. They don't believe it and they are on a long-term reset. Listen to Scott Bessent here. Now, how do we work to get a deal that will see Canada relieved of tariffs?

@KalkinTrivedi @JackPosobiec Sure that’s fair and I’m not arguing with you. My point is dad hasn’t presented any evidence that the courts prevented him from being a part of his son’s life. That was his choice.

I'm skeptical that Canadian policy is that radically different from that in USA. Here in USA it's easy for Transhausen moms to evict dads from the kids' lives. >> Short of a parent being abusive Failing to affirm synthetic genders is generally considered by the courts to be "abusive". Both mom & dad lost custody of a daughter for that in Montana.

@DustinDictators @JackPosobiec Fair and I’ve never said courts get it right 100% right 100% of the time. My point is, absent a court order preventing him from being part of his son’s life, he chose not to be part of it.

@sharcor @JackPosobiec My point is that he said he couldn’t be part of his son’s life, because his son’s mother wouldn’t allow it. This is objectively false, Canadian Courts will always allow a father to be part of a child’s life, save for cases of abuse. He made the choice not to be involved.

@TWilsonOttawa I’m not trying to argue for arguments sake, you know I always support everything you do. My point is only that as of now, there is no public evidence to suggest that the RCMP returned anything to anyone involved in this tragedy.

@TWilsonOttawa Right I don’t disagree. But when police seize anything in Canada, the Courts (a Judge) makes the final decision if the property gets returned or not. The police can’t say “we’re taking this, too bad”.

@UberJumper @gary_srp The Liberals should come out and say “banning these weapons won’t stop mass shooting, but it might reduce the death count”. Even that argument is tedious at best, but they’d gain some credibility. She backed him into the corner that he painted himself into.

It's so infuriating to watch @gary_srp outright lie, obfuscate and try to re-direct these straightforward questions. Gary, PAL holders have approval from their spouse, are RCMP vetted then licensed and have daily criminal checks run on them. The 2.3 million of us are not evil.
CCFR/CCDAF@CCFR_CCDAF

MUST WATCH: @ConnieCodyMP intelligently backs Safety Minister @Gary_SRP into a corner on how ridiculous the Liberal gun grab is. 👇 "In the death of Bailey McCourt, since it was a hammer that was used, did she die by the actions of the hammer, or the person wielding the weapon?"
