The Old Testament does say that. But Jesus taught us that we are not to judge who lives or dies- “Let he without sin, cast the first stone…” Jesus essentially stopped what was a legal execution for the crime of adultery. He emphasized mercy, he emphasized love and forgiveness, not revenge. Even as he was being executed he cried out for his executioners to be forgiven.
