Academia is wild. I find the weight of long-term struggles can be almost completely erased in an instant with the smallest breakthrough or ‘win’. Whether it’s successful data collection, positive results, finishing a paper, or publishing. Focussing on the ‘wins’ always helps!

During an impromptu coffee with @Mypster2 late 2018 I asked about running a transfusion project. Ideas grew and prelim studies began. We just received #CIHR funding to investigate the impact of transfusion on 🧠oxygenation in hypoxic-ischemic 🧠injury. Feeling immense gratitude!

Online / hybrid formats massively lower the carbon footprint of meetings. I’d also argue they’re more feasible & accessible to trainees. While I prefer in-person events, organizers should make the hybrid model a staple moving forward. #academictwitter reddit.com/r/science/comm…
