It is utterly scandalous that the Murrell hearing was delayed until after the May elections, in which the SNP were re-elected as the majority party to Holyrood. The entire Scottish legal and judicial system is in disrepute. Scotland is a Banana Republic in consequence.

The problem, Iona, with this theory is that Nicola was not only his wife. She was his boss. And the money was stolen from the organisation she effectively was in charge of. And she on several recorded occasions, deterred people interrogating the accounts of that organisation.

Nicola Sturgeon passed her driving test aged 53. Her schedule and work life had stood in the way of her doing something as normal as learning to drive. Is it really THAT unimaginable that her and her husband had become so distant and estranged that they didn’t “socialise” or go on holiday? If you ask me, this is a tragic state of affairs. The party money was stolen. Not tax payer public funds. Party money. SNP members are the victim of this fraud, but at the heart of the story is a woman who was possibly living in a challenging, and potentially dysfunctional marriage, who was betrayed.

@vkgscotland1 Their combined income ran to over £200k. Add that to other streams of income, NS's extremely busy schedule, seperate bank accounts and a marriage under strain, and it's not hard to imagine she didn't notice his spending. They weren't struggling for money. He clearly has issues.

I don’t know any couples who would buy cars, etc without any discussion.

@BarbaraSutton15 Guy earned more than enough to make payments on the car. The motorhome was bought in SNP's name. Like many fraudsters he was well able to hide his doings for many years. He made one little mistake in not accounting the earmarked indy funds separately and that was his downfall.
