Automation is coming to Iron Pact!
One of the features that I took a lot of time working on is Automation.
My first similar game, PixelWar, had lots of problems related to player being attacked while offline, having lots of manual actions to do in this very heavy logistical game.
That's why I worked a lot of Automation. I want this system to be strategical but not required to be able to play Iron Pact.
I target 3 kind of players:
- Diplomacy guy: Who will focus a lot on its alliances.
- Strategy guy: Who will focus more on the STR aspect of the game.
- Factory guy: Who will love the automation system.
The three kind of players are important to have in an efficient Alliance, it's as much important to have a good leader, than having good strategic people and being able to automate most of the alliance logistical tasks !
This features allows also players to translate their political doctrines into real-life rules, that are automatically applied through Automation.
Automation allows you to control -nearly- everything in your empire, from units, to building productions, constructions, attack, logistical routes, logistical networks, and so on!
Think of it as Factorio circuits, but enhanced and simplified.
This is the master feature before release for Iron Pact, I am finishing it, and then will start to refine the final release for Iron Pact, it's a major mile stone and I am very proud of the advancement on this game.
Hopefully players will love this new automation system and we'll see interesting usages of it when the game will be released.

@BrigandineBgd It's a blend between Hearts of Iron, Factorio and Fox hole tbh, they've all been inspirations for me and I love them.
And yea, in an MMO format :)

@AltariusEti Great question, depends on the player's profile. My own player profile is more interested by Supply lines as an example.

@AlexMog_FR The logistics angle is what makes this interesting. In strategy games, do you think players care more about alliances, supply lines, or map control???

@ParishStoner The game was designed so there's no real "Wins" possible, it is made to be persistent.
The only "win" possible is to have enough alliances to make the world "stable", but highly improbable :), and if so, I'll find solutions for it haha :)

@AlexMog_FR a persistent world map so what happens if someone actually wins? Restart?

@SMthegamer1 AI is mainly used for internal tools and marketing materials
Most of the game code is handmade, I mainly use auto-complete from AI in Cursor

@AlexMog_FR Sounds like a fun idea, you mention using AI for code in the disclosure.
To what extent was it used?
Getting flashbacks to that multiplayer minesweeper security risk a few years back.

@VeganRScum We are indeed inspired by Foxhole, the big difference here is that in foxhole, you control only your own character, in Iron Pact, you control a complete faction. Iron pact is more centered around alliances and big strategy gameplay

@Greenboat6 We are indeed inspired by foxhole, but our game model is not the same, iron pact is a strategy game where you command a full army, foxhole you only control your own character

@LeTortillas Je n'ai malheureusement pas connu march of war donc je ne pourrais pas confirmer qu'on est similaire ou non, en tout cas on fait notre possible pour rendre le jeu intéressant !
