At some point, senior Premier League execs have to offer a proper explanation in public for their leniency towards Chelsea. They owe an explanation to fans of clubs punished more harshly. They owe an explanation to those clubs who did abide by the rules. They have to offer some explanation as to why PSR breaches are deemed far more serious than acts of "deception and concealment". Yes, these are the offences of a previous regime at Chelsea. But inconsistencies run through the PL's defence and their reputation is damaged. They can’t hide from a controversy of this magnitude.

Interesting that in the Everton points deduction verdict the Premier League said “A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty” and that “the requirements of deterrence, vindication of compliant clubs, and the protection of the integrity of the sport demand a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction’. Presumably the Chelsea fine (which ultimately is just a deduction from what billion dollar Clearlake will pay to billionaire Abramovich from the £150m held back at the deal date) is then neither punishment, a deterrent or protecting the integrity of the sport? If I was an Everton or Forest fan would not be happy with this outcome.

@Giniesta10 And the press will be fine, the second man is more important (historically Joelinton), Woltemade just need to stress the keeper/defender enough to hit a poor pass. Our press being bad at points this season has had more to do with it being out of sync than Nicks lack of pace.

@Giniesta10 Agreed on all 3. Woltemade should play as the 9 in a 4231 or a 433. Just need smart players around him that can take advantage of the space in behind when he drops deep and drags defenders. Hes shown for Stuttgart, Germany and even us (early season) that he can be a good CF.

I bloody love Woltemade and think he is quality, but my word he is not a centre midfielder. Play the poor fella in his actual position #NUFC
