@GilbertGulag @dfermin1 @luxemiaa She ordered it with the server which clearly meant that is what she wants. He could’ve asked her what she was having before then and maybe could’ve avoided cancelling her order and she would’ve had time to switch. But sure Gilbert, her lack of communication is the problem here 🙄

I went on a date and ordered a salad and fries. That was my meal. The waiter wrote it down and moved on to him. He asked, “Does the club sandwich come with fries?” The waiter said yes. He said, “Great, I’ll have the club.” Then he looked at the waiter and said, “And you can cancel her fries.” My fries. The fries I had specifically ordered for myself. Canceled without discussion, as if he had full legal authority over my potato decisions. I just sat there staring at him. This man had known me for maybe 20 minutes and was already editing my order. I asked why he did that. He said, “You can just have some of mine.” That was not the point. First of all, I wanted my own fries. Second, I do not want to negotiate over side dishes with a man I barely know. And.,......

@GilbertGulag @dfermin1 @luxemiaa You don’t know that at all. She ordered it for meal not an app. Considering she had the option of any other entree that likely cost double plus some what the fries were it wasn’t about the money.

@dfermin1 @luxemiaa She literally did. She ordered before him and said she wanted fries. She shouldn’t have to again if he was remotely competent. He did ask the waiter a follow up question that was clear he heard her order and then tried to control her. He’s not incompetent. Rather just a dick.

Literally been sick all day, my son comes in and tells me his ex-girlfriend called saying she went to DC to have an abortion. My response? Block her and never speak to her again. Not because of politics, because if a man can be forced to financially support a child for 18 years, he should at least have a voice before a decision is made to end that child’s life. Why didn’t we have a say? Seems like “my body, my choice” somehow never includes the father until it’s time for child support. Now I have to fight for Fathers Rights in Abortion.

@uranoutofluck So what is a woman then? Cue the "A woman is someone who identifies as a woman" response - That's not a definition, that's circular logic.

"A kid coded in Room 3 today, 14 years old. I did CPR for 22 minutes." "His mom asked me to tell him she loved him. He was already gone." "I was late to you because I was dead on-time for him." "You still want me to be on time?" I deleted the review. Now I bring two books. One for me and one to leave in the waiting room. Moral: The person who "disrespected your time" might have been busy saving a life.

My doctor was always 45 mins late, every visit. No apology it’s just "Take a seat." Last time I waited 1 hour 20 mins then I left. Then wrote a google review. I wasn’t mean but just honest: "Always late, brings a book."2 stars. He called me that night from his personal cell. "You think I'm late because I don't respect your time?" I said "...yes?"

@ph7litmus @Her_Nonymous_D Offering the lollipop wasn’t the problem. It was the refusal to accept no as the answer. Genuinely asking, did your parents lose their ability to understand the word “no”?My husbands grandma has rapidly progressing dementia and we have two little kids so I’d like to be prepared😭

@Her_Nonymous_D I understand your reaction as you were teaching your daughter about boundaries. Equally I know my parents descended into dementia, they each loved talking to little children in supermarkets and on trains, and I could easily imagine them offering sweets. Spreading happiness.

My daughter (3yo) and I were walking through an aisle when an older man approached us. He was smiling and seemed friendly enough at first. Without much conversation, he pulled out a lollipop and tried to offer it directly to her. Before my toddler could even react, I calmly said, “No, thank you.” My daughter also declined immediately, which honestly made me feel a little proud in the moment. She’s learning to respond the same way I do. But instead of accepting that, he kept going. He leaned in again, still trying to hand it to her, speaking to her directly like I hadn’t just said “No” politely. It wasn’t aggressive, but it also wasn’t respectful of the boundary that had already been set. So I stepped in more firmly. I took the lollipop from his hand, repeated, “No, thank you,” and placed it on a nearby counter. I didn’t raise my voice, I didn’t make a scene, I just made it very clear that the answer wasn’t changing. And that’s when the tone shifted. He said I was…

@Snazzyy_Pants @AlexPaulsen3 @NLysio @kaziopeaa It’s a little confusing when you are trying to get to know someone and they get snippy at you for asking questions to get to know them. Be an adult, we don’t have time for this signs nonsense. Just say you’re not interested in talking instead of wasting the other persons time.

This small-town video store is on its last legs: Dave, the owner, is closing up shop, but his biggest worry is Christina—a loyal customer with Down syndrome who comes every single day to rent a Disney movie. It's her routine, her comfort, her joy. He can't bear to take that away. So what does he do? Clears a corner in his nearby convenience store, builds 'Christina’s Corner' with every one of her 200 favorite films, to keep the magic going. She's still able to pick her movies, watch it at home, and return it the next day—same as always. No disruption, no sadness, just pure kindness from a man who refused to let 'business closed' mean 'customer forgotten.' This is how stores used to treat people—with heart and creativity. More Daves, please. ❤️

I didn't want to jump too deep into the ICE Minneapolis shooting until I had more details. I studied the videos and made a short clip that shows what you need to see. 1. The person shown walking is Alex Pretti 2. He is walking towards ICE while armed (apparently) 3. He intervenes when ICE agents push down and pepper spray protestors. 4. It appears ICE noticed his weapon when he bent over to help the person with the orange backpack 5. They threw him to the ground and started assaulting him. You can see the rest from there. I added a clip at the end showing the lady who filmed this. I muted her dialog during the main sequence because she was screaming "FU" the whole time.
