Ryan's daycentre went somewhere completely new today to ride accessible bikes, Ryan's done bikes before but not here, so they went thinking as its new Ryan may sit and watch and listen to his radio and maybe try next time, Ryan sees all the accessible bikes and trikes goes straight fir a 3 wheeler adapted for adults with learning disabilities, gets on it and spends the next hour whizzing around going up and down and doing laps , he didn't even stop for a drink, he absolutely loved it.

@chris_cross1498 @MForstater I was actively prevented from going into the men’s changing rooms at M&S Bluewater last summer to give my teen son an opinion on clothes I was paying for. Maybe next time I should say I feel like I’m a man.

@jpwarchaeology Do you ever have a conversation in your head with the people who made that space? That it’s still here all this time later and the world around it is a different planet? I do the same with Samuel Johnson and today’s London. He’s at my fantasy dinner party, for sure.

One of the few things that makes the utter penury of archaeology worthwhile is the privileged access to private areas of buildings. I was recently allowed into the 1430s arch-braced roof space which was once visible from the hall of the George Inn at Norton St Philip (Somerset).

My confidence and self worth haven’t been great lately and I just wanted to say thats ok so other people who suffer with depression or anxiety know that it’s ok to feel like that. I’m CEO of Happy Doggo and most people in positions like mine have to hide stuff like this. Most people in all positions In life do actually. It’s really hard to admit you don’t feel the best about yourself. That’s why I just write it down as I feel because maybe it’ll help someone. Between our team, partners and everything wrapped up in what I do there are probably 100+ people who rely on me. Add in social media, donors and everything else and that’s a massive happy facade to keep up. I’ve learnt though that it’s ok to say you are not ok. At the moment I’m going through the motions. Still working hard and trying my best but I feel a bit worthless. No self worth at all. I also have imposter syndrome. I know I can jus read the comments here or look at the dogs saved and I should be happy but it doesn’t bring me anything. I look in the mirror at the moment and can’t even really look at myself. No particular reason or spark for this. As people who suffer know it just comes in a dark wave like a fog. I could easily share some happy dog photos and smile and pretend I felt amazing. But I’d rather be honest and try to help others. I have untold amounts of support and good luck that many of you dont. So if you're feeling down or a little rough right now, that's okay because so am I, and it's absolutely fine to say that. Have a lovely weekend and be kind to each other ❤️

I have cleaned-up this gorgeoous, soft-focus Autochrome of a pavement artist on the Thames Embankment in June 1924, taken in colour by the visiting French photographers Roger Dumas and Camille Sauvageot. It is original colour, not colourised.

@SouthApe A tortoise has been in my wife's family since the 60s, going to various uncles and aunts since it keeps out-living whoever is taking care of it. Once her uncle passes, we are next in line. We did finally figure out that Cleopatra is a male though!

Back when I worked in a reptile shop a while ago I had an elderly gentleman who came in regularly to get earthworms, horn worms an occasional f/t mice. One day I got curious because you don't see many folks that old with a reptile pet so I asked him about what he was feeding

@greta_krendel @jennyeclair Love this! I found an ancient packet of yellow cosmos which have been fab and I have never seen elsewhere. Inspired to find more now!

@jennyeclair I started growing my own cosmos from seed in 2023 & am totally besotted with them. Cheap seeds or not, all have worked well for me in pots or beds. I’ve been keeping notes too. Good luck with yours, they’re lovely flowers & great cut flowers too.

For the last couple of weeks Ryan's been attending workshops with Gloucestershire Community Rail Partnership, they've been teaching Ryan how to safely book and take a railway trip, so as part of that they've been helping him book a trip to Birmingham to play golf, and tomorrow is the day he goes, its all very exciting Ryan's never done anything like this before, the aim of this is to help Ryan feel safe when going on the train and how to book a journey, just a few years ago Ryan wouldn't leave his daycentre he'd stay at the daycentre watching YouTube videos, Ryan's now not only joining in, but with help support and guidance hes now booking days out. How amazing is that.
