Here’s something that’s controversial to some people but really shouldn’t be, for example: -You can take medication for high blood pressure and still exercise -You can take medication for diabetes and work on eating healthier -You can take a GLP-1 for weight management and improve your relationship with food None of these are mutually exclusive. None of this is “cheating.” None of this means you’ve failed. Medication and lifestyle are tools, not opposing teams. The meds vs. lifestyle crowd really needs to chilllll out.

GI oncologist and pancreatic cancer survivor here 🙋🏻‍♂️ CT scans = radiation exposure, so seeking one annually incurs a LOT of risk over time Red flags for me: 🚩 new-onset diabetes in adulthood with simultaneous weight loss 🚩 jaundice 🚩 otherwise-unexplained blood clots

Don’t lie to docs to get yearly CT scans & unnecessary radiation that also increase cancer risk. DO go to your yearly checkup, DO utilize the actual screenings we have for breast, colon, cervical, & lung cancers. DO advocate for yourself but be careful who you listen to on here🫶🏾

@jtrebach Which is why using ONE administration of the MMSE to diagnose and label someone with dementia is problematic, bad practice, and can result in subsequent episodes of provider bias if documented in the EHR etc. Speaking from personal experience.

Sanofi’s Novavax/Nuvaxovid webpage for Healthcare Professionals is now live: pro.campus.sanofi/us/products/nu… It includes a link to the new patient website, Nuvaxovid.com, which has not been activated yet, as well as a product locator at nuvaxovid.com/vaccine-locator, which is also not active just yet. Sanofi has told us that we can expect the locator to go live around the end of next week, but this is confirmation that we’re indeed actually getting one!

@CMBarbee_ If I can recommend a book, this one helped free me from some of the stress about this. It's short and sweet.

Residency itself isn’t actually that bad. I like medicine. What’s bad is the unwashed laundry, empty refrigerator, seeing your bf and dog 3-5 hours a day. Having to spend your one day off doing the above. That’s the draining part.
