Learning theology and philosophy is ultimately a waste of time if it isn't helping your relationship to God. They can and should do that. Since God IS wisdom, the "love of wisdom"should help you to increase in love of God. But if it isn't, you're not doing real philosophy.

I’m 100% in favor of Jackie Robinson Day. But can we agree that every player wearing 42 makes the game confusing to watch?

Tomorrow: sketching out some thoughts that I’ve been thinking through on the evidence the Apostles had for the Resurrection.

If the Catholic Church wants you to baptize your baby then parishes should probably be more welcoming to those babies. Filling out a baptism form and this is so rude 💀 we don’t have to take a class bc this isn’t our first rodeo but what do they expect first-time parents to do if they can’t bring their baby along with them especially if the child is still young and breast-fed? Absolutely crazy to me

1/ I grew up Baptist. I used to think Catholics worshipped Mary. The argument that finally convinced me otherwise isn't the one most Catholics make. It's stranger and more interesting than the usual back-and-forth.

@planert41 Something I've learned from older parents is that there are hard times and easy times, but both eventually pass. Put one foot in front of the other and remind yourself of how awesome your kids are. The difficult times don't last forever.

Dads with young kids Is it normal to just feel tired and burnt out all the time? It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

An observation from a non-Catholic: Much popesplaining misses the point of the papacy, which is that it manages to hold the Church together *despite* the flawed men who occupy the office and their often misguided acts and utterances. It’s part of the perennial case for the faith.

Finally circling back to a couple people who asked here! I need to track down an old thread. The short answer is it's hard to think of a good contemporary resource that's JUST resurrection-focused which I find really helpful, but there's good stuff by old dead guys. Here you go: x.com/BMcGrewvy/stat…

Not only do we require no further public appearances from Trent, we extra specially don't require public appearances in which Trent rehashes desperately stale resurrection minimalism that the actual best apologists moved on from long ago.

@jdflynn @canonlawyered have put up an explainer responding to claims the SSPX cannot be excommunicated if they have no *intent* to commit schism. (This claim has been recently, foolishly endorsed by Bshp. Schneider. He is wrong.) Starts at 27 min. open.substack.com/pub/thepillar/…
