Sadly, we have had to close applications for this service in less than 24 hours because we've had 7 times the number of applications that we have places. Grant funders, this is the level of unmet need. National and local government, this is the level of unmet need.

⭐️We're delighted to announce the launch of our Post Diagnostic Support Mentoring service, kindly funded by The Boshier Grant Scheme, administered by @Autism . More info: autisticgirlsnetwork.org/post-diagnosti… Please note that there are limited places and we expect them to disappear quickly.

How else would you phrase trial and error? I’m trying ‘trial and reflect’ So that young people and parents don’t think they’ve done something wrong- some therapy ideas work, others don’t, it’s not an error it’s just less helpful than we’d like #trial #reflect #childled

Cannot believe what I've just read - a fellow health professional disclosed on registering with the @The_HCPC that they were autistic only to be hit with 'Fitness to Practice concerns' 😡 Would love to hear how the HCPC can justify this (and still take ££ from many autistic HCPs)

Not had a teams call interrupted by a rat running through my kitchen before. It’s still behind the kick boards. Apologies for any swearing @WeAreHumanTooUK 🐀😱

@AuDHD_SLT @AmyCatsSLT Our caseload has sat consistently at 40-60% of the ward (query or dx autistic, LD, ADHD) seems to be the same across MH wards. I agree it's the "what next" element. We've got the info and recognise the need but when will those who hold the budget invest in longer term outcomes? 2

@AuDHD_SLT myself and @AmyCatsSLT are currently employed as part of project on acute mental health ward, learning how to improve experience for autistic people. We've identified so much that is needed, much of what's in this thread Kate.

What would happen if we saw school related distress as feedback on the system? As a psychologist, I meet many children who are distressed by school. Usually I’m being asked to change that. Can I make them less anxious? Can I make them attend without protest? 1/

Powerful conversations about language - I have access leave to come back to my placement, I’ve engaged in meaningful activity with my kids and prepared a meal, I’m now not meaningfully engaged in any therapeutic activity, later I’ll retire to bed and sleep well on all checks

Thoughtful message from the ward we're working on @AmyCatsSLT 💛 we're in the last 3 months of a 12 month project, learning how we can improve support on #mentalhealth wards for #autistic people
