@DrMikeRoberts @DrAndyGalpin As far as I know, increasing volume should increase the sarco component and decrease the myofibrillar %. High-load training should increase the % of the myofibrillar component and decrease the sarco one. But we should see the absolute numbers too, the whole cell hypertrophy.

@DrMikeRoberts @DrAndyGalpin Hi, Mike. You should continue your work on sacro- vs. myofibrillar hypertrophy. Unfortunately, your studies didn't give us a clear answer. And we have to analyze different fiber types too. Myofibrillar adaptation is what we need. And preservation of adaptation.

@MuscleMechsLab @JSCRonline @UlsterSchSport The question is if partial stretch reps are more effective than full ROM for whole muscle hypertrophy. We can't see clear advantages at this point. When it comes to feelings, I like to do full ROM more. Feeling of completeness.

@AlexViKu @JSCRonline @UlsterSchSport Exact transmission of force through muscle and ways muscle 'should' grow arent well defined. With decent active tension in all groups youd expect some radial growth as well as longitudinal. Yes it's always interesting to see influences of other architectures

@MuscleMechsLab @JSCRonline @UlsterSchSport Basically, we usually see the advantage of long muscle length training only in distal regions. But somehow LML increases hypertrophy in the whole muscle, unlike short ROM. From this point of view, LML has a clear advantage to preserve muscle mass for us as we age. 🙂

@MuscleMechsLab @JSCRonline @UlsterSchSport My hypothesis is that concentric contraction increases 'metabolic stress,' which increases hypertrophy, mostly sarcomeres in parallel. Stretching activates mechanical signals (titin), increasing mostly longitudinal growth (sarco in series).

I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the principal source of success in life.

@MuscleMechsLab @JSCRonline @UlsterSchSport Thanks. Interesting study. But why did you choose to use different intensities? Because it's a confounding factor here. And it's not clear if all the groups trained to failure. It's important too.

@jploenneke 20-30 RM is more effective for hypertrophy, quite the opposite from what we know. I think we need to measure growth more precisely, a minimum of one week after training.
