@LetsTalkThe100 Agree about what say regarding Rockets and Fire. I thought they both easily had the worst auctions. It'll be interesting if something similar happens today, especially if a player like Cox ends up going for a huge amount early.

Think after the auction - Phoenix, MSG, Brave and Sunrisers come out the strongest and expect them to be competing at the top! Think it was a poor day especially for the Rockets and Fire - both teams to an extent focussed on getting the big overseas name early at the detriment of a strong domestic core! #TheHundredAuction #TheHundred

@AlfieHouseEcho Getting Armstrong to play effectively as a no.9 has been a huge difference. He's dropping in now (like Che used to), rather than playing on the last man. Today and against Wednesday, he's been brilliant there.

Hard to know what has changed since Still's sacking. Probably a lot of things, more/better detail on the training pitch and someone now getting their messaging across, but clearly an upturn in effort even if it's subconscious. And belief from beating two average teams. #SaintsFC

@MartinSLewis You could offset £500 of PA against the £500 of interest not covered by the SA. That would mean an extra £500 of salary being taxed -but at 20%. All income not covered by PA/SA falls into the BRB. The SA covers that which falls into the HRB. (But I agree on the pitfall you raise)

Eek just realised I made an error in the calculations in this. The principle is right. However for the 2nd example, some of the savings would be taxed at 20%, so actually the total take home would be £894 of the £1,000 savings. You still earn MORE by getting paid LESS though. Apologies.

When you earn MORE by getting paid LESS interest. There’s a hole in the tax system which has a bizarre effect…

@Sdoull on comms was surprised that Rockets weren’t allowed to make Moores a permanent replacement for injured Hose (since Moores was temp replacement for Alsop, who’s back) Quite surprising, esp. as last year NS had Brown as both temp for Brook & later permanent for Pennington

@LetsTalkThe100 Presumably they'll consider playing an extra batter (in place of Farhan) moving forward, now that Rachin should come in for Chapman. Four bowlers, plus two all-rounders in Rachin and Gregory. That should cure their tail issue.

Massive win that for the Originals - McKinney and Baker were very good and a massive positive! Still not convinced overall by them or the length of their tail! As for the Spirit, Williamson’s knock really hurt their chase in the end. Ultimately feel both teams will struggle to qualify! #TheHundred

@AlfieHouseEcho If you include this season, I think only two of the top 17 have been relegated in the past 9 seasons (Fulham and Bmouth). The gap between those 17 and the rest is increasing.

Not only are the bottom three so unbelievably far off the rest, this comes after a record-breaking season in the Championship where they were all miles better than pretty much everyone else. Very worrying for the pyramid. #SaintsFC

@AlfieHouseEcho Yep, and not a one-off either because he was excellent last season too. Very good goals-per-game. Issue though is his injuries - he might have outscored Armstrong if he hadn't been injured for a large period. So it depends on what fee Norwich would want for him.

Josh Sargent looks like a very tidy player to be fair. Menace on Football Manager too, if that counts for anything.

@josh_t12 I think Currie was injured for a lot of the winter, so is presumably behind the others fitness wise. It does sound like Barker will still be around for the season, but I think he too might be coming back from injury. But yeah, we've taken a huge gamble in letting Mo go.

@josh_t12 I'm assuming that I'm not the only one who hasn't heard of Hampton before? Looks like he bats as high as no.6 or 7 in NZ.
