When it comes to stocks, if they just sit they are doing nothing, some stocks have dividends that actually are taxed. I do a 1099-DIV every year for my dividends. But that's active gains.

@TheGyropath @DudeWhoInvests Amazon is a company, unlike my phone which doesn’t generate any revenue. Companies are valued based on all their potential future earnings until the death of the universe. We can’t act like these poor billionaires have their hands tied and cannot contribute anything 😢

I’m a fan of fighting for democracy and removing dictators strategically (ie when it doesn’t cause WWIII). Fantastic that we’ve freed the people of Venezuela (Let’s hope this doesn’t escalate). Freeing Cuba next would be a noble effort. Maybe they would like to be the 52nd state after Puerto Rico. [ And Trump fighting hard for the people of Ukraine is also noble — even if it is an imperfect democracy and some folks of the GOP remain Groupies for Putin ]

Maturing is not wanting to tax other people more simply because they exist in a different tax bracket than you.
It's wanting to keep a consistent and logical approach to taxes, even when it doesn't benefit you personally to do so.
I'm not a billionaire, I will never be one. But confiscating percentages of their wealth, just because they're at that level, is simply bad policy, and a scary one. Once you go down the path of being able to seize people's assets, just because they have them, there's no telling where that leads.

@joecarlsonshow I don’t see you providing a reason why it is bad policy? I pay nearly 1/3 of my income to the government. Income I need to live. Meanwhile billionaires are basically not taxed since they don’t take in an income. Make them pay based on assets once you get to a billion dollars.ez

I think it's VERY smart that Tesla has permanently put the Self-Driving button on the screen.
Even if you're not signed up to FSD, they should have the button available.
If someone presses it without having the subscription, they should be 1 button press away from purchasing/enabling.
I think it's the PERFECT time for Tesla to offer another month free once v14.1.7 goes wide.
It's too good to keep out of people's hands IMO.
