Name this “cocktail”. Not sure if it’s an urban myth that a lot of pubs refused to serve it? They certainly didn’t refuse in “The Garage” in the Nottingham lace market in the early 80s. 60p a pint all night on a Tuesday 🤷 God I loved that place, and Rock City 🥳

The Secret Barrister 🦋
The Secret Barrister 🦋@BarristerSecret·
I made my mind up about Keir Starmer’s character years ago. It’s a highly personal account I now share for the first time, as Sir Keir is poised to lead Labour into government. In 2015, I set up an anonymous Twitter account called The Secret Barrister. The idea was to draw public attention to problems that I saw daily in the criminal justice system. The account achieved mild success, and led to the publication of several books. As part of my rampant self-publicity, I would do “Legal Live Tweets” - exercises in tedious pedantry whereby I would sloppily apply rudimentary legal knowledge to popular movies. A number of lawyers began to follow me. At some point, Keir Starmer became one of them. Then the rumours began. Reddit was the worst. A couple of right-wing blogs fanned the flames. The Times mischievously floated the idea. Labour Party members joined the speculation. The question kept recurring: IS KEIR STARMER THE SECRET BARRISTER? After all, we were both barristers. What further proof was needed? Despite what, it was clear to all, was a concerted international media campaign - photographers on my lawn, journalists haranguing my grandma, my Welsh flatmate answering the front door naked to the world’s press - Keir Starmer said nothing. Not a single word to dispel the rumours. Not a single speech in Parliament. Not a single line in his manifesto promising to correct the record. And now, as he stands on the precipice of power, what has he said in the course of this campaign to dispel these wicked whispers? To offer the nation the reassurance that it craves? Nothing. So it is that I remain at the mercy of conspiracy theorists, mischief makers and Kwik Fit fitters. And our Prime Minister-to-be seemingly could not care less. Whatever Sir Keir’s many achievements, I will never forget the character of the man who followed me on Twitter, sat back and watched my world burn.
The Secret Barrister 🦋@BarristerSecret

It’s not just Labour Reddit that’s on the case. Some folks with a righteous “UK law”/Union flag/gavel motif are now predicting “a pretty big scandal when it comes out” that Keir Starmer is The Secret Barrister.

Looking back on 14 years of the Tories is like looking back at the traumatising post-vindaloo shit you just did in the toilet.

"We're selling our house. We've been selling it for a year." No, you've been chasing the market down for a year. List low initially, get competing buyers quickly. If you must cut, cut to below expectations, and you still have a chance of getting interest. This is one example of thousands of people enduring slow death by 1,000 price cuts. How many more insufficient cuts before they learn?

I've just been asked about knotted muscles in Long Covid - painful spasms that clench up and then won't ease up for days. Are they common?

@lily_scott @arxhiiie @imacelebrity Agree. His persistence with the comments and over attention to her after made me uncomfortable to watch. Can understand why she felt the need to put boundaries in place. She did it politely and clearly.

@arxhiiie @imacelebrity I thought it was a great example of someone setting boundaries & vocalising when they get overstepped. Too many people mistake assertiveness for arrogance. And, people don’t get to decide what others are offended by. If you’re offended you’re offended, apologise & mean it.

@samanthabaines @clarksshoes Epsom branch is a nightmare for this. Buggies have to be left unattended at the base, no help if your child is scared of the steep stairs.

Miraculously. With many thanks to friends & family who supported me while writing Putin’s People. To @ArabellaPike for her courageous defence. And to the Russian billionaires & Kremlin who tried so hard to demonstrate how the super-rich can abuse the UK legal system 😉 #antiSLAPP

@celiamary3 @sturdyAlex His comment that there were some titles he should have lost but won, and this is payback for that (I forget exact words), made it sound like he thought he should have won this one, but lost. That was ungracious. Alcaraz was without doubt the better player.
