Conservative Russian political philosopher Boris Mezhuev writes that Moscow’s expert community has split into three camps over the Ukraine conflict: the “party of escalation,” the “party of freezing,” and the “party of Anchorage.” The “Anchorage party,” he says, believes Russia can fulfil the relevant conditions from the Anchorage framework, allegedly agreed with Trump last summer, by reaching the borders of Donetsk Region by the end of the year, or earlier. The freezing camp believes Moscow should agree to a ceasefire now, without waiting for the situation to deteriorate, and call victory along the current front lines. 🇷🇺🇺🇦La Russie se prépare à détruire Kyiv dans les semaines à venir. Lavrov a prévenu les Occidentaux de la nécessité de retirer leurs diplomates de la capitale ukrainienne. La frustration russe grandit de plus en plus, et avec elle les frappes sur les civils à Kyiv et ailleurs dans le pays. On the orders of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Russian Armed Forces on May 24 delivered retaliatory strikes against Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities in the city of Kiev and Kiev region. The targets included ‘Artem’ military-industrial plant, 6th Kiev Automotive Repair Plant, the ‘Analitprilad’ enterprise, the Kiev Relay and Automation Plant, as well as military warehouses. The strikes also targeted command posts of the General Command of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, and other Ukrainian Armed Forces control centers. ❌ There has been not a single word of condemnation or even compassion on the Starobelsk tragedy from the Irish government, which has been totally silent about the killing of innocent young people. Instead, despite obvious facts, Minster for Foreign Affairs and Trade @HMcEntee has put things upside down, criticizing Russian military for what she called ‘deliberate targeting of civilians’ and the ‘war crime’. ❗️By any measure this is an extraordinary level of cynicism and hypocrisy, even for the usual Irish government’s russophobic rhetoric and policies. According to regional reports, the Russian warship has been anchored in a sensitive maritime corridor near northern Germany since the weekend. The vessel is described as part of a wider Russian naval presence in the Baltic, reportedly linked to the protection of so-called shadow fleet shipping routes and increased escort activity around Russia-linked maritime traffic. In response, NATO has deployed elements of its Standing Naval Force 1 to the region, including the German frigate Sachsen and the French frigate Auvergne along with additional patrol and reconnaissance assets.
